Lots of nice work going on here. I've just returned to the forum after a long hiatus. I still have several smaller projects to work on in the future. Keep up the nice work. The information presented makes an interesting read as I learn something that may help me later.

I got these for my sda srs 2.3tl pair, along with a custom Vr3 crossover and internal wiring, larry's rings, dynamat, and soon to have the steel semi rings for the mid woofers.
The rdo 198 tweeters were very easy to install into the billet plates. ZERO REGRETS! Sound is amazing. It was good with oem crossovers, but it sounds amazing now.

@xschop Whats happening Hoss ! When the site took a plunge I did not get back on for a while. Looks like your work has been kickin **** and taking names ! This is some great stuff you are building here man. I finally found 4 Polk MW in Atlanta. One with a slipped magnet so I finally got to try the tool . Quick easy works perfectly. Another original Polk Mid woofer saved from the scrap heap. Drove 4 hours round trip but 30.00 for four MW 6500's was worth it. Well, I did pick up some other stuff while I was out and about you know..
Sorry for the REALLY late reply, but I did message you on the new forum months ago lol.
Don't toss burnt-coil MWs, they can be repaired without too much involved... Hit me up with PM if you chime in here in the next few months lmao.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

I am still very happy with the 6 plates you made for my rdo198's in my 2.3tl's. Took a while to change the tweets to the plates, but was well worth it. I kind of wish I had anodized mine black, but I just left them raw aluminum, with a coat of wax.
I would love to get a set of those rings like you have on all your drivers. That looks amazing! -
Mine are back from the anodizer today. The RD0198s look better and sound better. Details later.

I like the way they still project the underlying pattern/patina. Exquisite.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

I really like the way the swirl/machining marks catch and reflect light. I briefly had second thoughts about having them anodized because I thought the coating would greatly diminish the pattern and patina. However, if I hadn't had them blacked out, the contrast between the bright aluminum surface and the black finishes on the rest of the speaker would have become grating over time.
Anodizing actually enhanced the pattern/patina because most of the obscuring glare from the bright metal surface is gone.

Where's your install pics? Got to build another 1-piece X-over plate to match tweeters and the red anodized is popular.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

Last tidbit detail. I machined the coil lead channels to accommodate any common 1/2" wide electrical tape.(White tape used as reference) Simply snip 1.25" lengths for each side and place over wire lead while slightly overlapping silk dome fabric.....

Bump for those asking about the swap procedure...

I would be interested in 2 for my SDA 2b (RD0198) if it's not too much trouble. If available for a forum newb, that is.
