I'm pretty stoked about this new-to-me Basis Audio 1400 turntable with a Rega RB900 tonearm. The chassis and platter are clear acrylic, so looking forward to hearing what this has to offer.

This will be my first tt with an off-board motor.

This looks really cool! I haven’t heard of this company before, but that looks like some solid design philosophies.

    Thanks guys!
Basis Audio is a German company that prides itself on tight tolerances. This 1400 tt is entry-level for them, but I was curious, and figured the RB900 arm alone was worth something.

RB 900 looks near-identical to the RB300. Either are great tone arms

I thought Basis is an American company. Their website is not too clear, but indicates a New Hampshire address, which I suppose could be the distributor. Founder A. J. Conti was a very well regarded designer-builder. Nice looking tt.

Ivan, Do you know the maker/brand of the black cabinet? Vented, locking... looks nice. The LED's inside were probably added by the owner.

PT2: The tone arm on that table looks like a Rega - suggestive of the TT’s SQ.

Very long story: Rega tone arms are some of, if not the industry’s most under rated arms. Real pain in the rear echelon to set up but worth the trouble because their “set and forget” nature. Near Lambo sound performance at just above Fiat 500 prices.

    Enjoy! Tony

Installed a new to me PS Audio power regenerator. Nice improvement in sound: vocal clarity, bass volume and definition - could probably do without the subwoofer at this point. My SDA-CRS+ have never sounded better. Everything I've done to clean up my power supply has really paid off. Huge thanks for guidance go to @DarqueKnight - you're the man, Ray!

Was about to like your post, then saw, “...could probably do without the subwoofer...”

    Make sad 😢

Line purification and voltage regulation really does make a difference. Congrats on your purchase!

Those are to be connected directly to ground. Here is a snippet from the website...

"Resistors are made in thick film technology. The resistive layer is applied to the ceramic molded body. Then it's drying with high temperature and encapsulated with silicon cement. After applying 0.8mm tinned copper wire, the resistor is almost ready to play, but for ultimate mechanical stability and the shielding advantages it's putted into the copper tube and flooded with the best quality resin. The use of copper tubing allows to drain interferences and this is why we used the third long leadout. It's connected only to the casing, having no contact with the signal transmitted by the resistor. The third leadout should be joined to the ground or "-" speaker input."

Thanks! I got two in 9.1 ohms in today. These things are heavy and look great.

I installed the rasberry pi into wicked aluminum case!
This made the wifi stop working.
So I ran an ethernet cable to the router.
I hastily enlarged a 3/8 hole in the floor to 5/8 so I could fit a premade cable, because I didnt want to drive to work to get an RJ-45 crimper on the holiday weekend.
Roon interface is a lot faster than it ever was on wifi and I'm happy with how it worked out!
But that hole in the floor is going to haunt me.
