    The guys on Phoenix said to make 100% sure the trans cover was isolated electrically from chassis. I went to great travail here just to do that.

    I guess they are recommending that to eliminate circulating currents/hum but at the expense of diminished high frequency EMI isolation. They are in opposition.

    A single point ground strap rather than the double would still minimize ground loops and if you later measured residual hum or ground related noise it could always be lifted.

    Or, if I hear any artifact/s from current configuration, I can simply remove the two rubber gaskets so the rear cover is technically making circuit with the chassis?

    I'm already in over my head here lol. But maybe the problem with that might be that you could get a potential path for residual magnetic flux in the transformer to drive circulating currents through the chassis?

    Indeed, so I followed Joe's advice on these matters...

    I was about to give a GFA-555 the full XS treatment before the 400 magically showed up. B)
