I just went out there and put a second coat on that bottom wood shelf ( it replaces a broken one. I found that rack on the side of the road a block from my house last summer) and then rocked out the Tritons and the Pinnacle Classic Gold Towers beside the center stereo rack for an hour. I only listened to one pr. at a time. The Pinnacles are efficient but the Tritons are a bear for an amp reviewers have found. At the volumes I was playing at times, I didn't want to melt the NAD receiver playing all 4 speakers at once.
It's a little chilly today so I brought the shelf into the cottage to dry. BIG mistake! The fumes were WAY TOO MUCH so I put it back outside to dry! Spray can paint...
All smiles for a while! Maybe the fumes. Maybe the music. Maybe BOTH.
I missed not playing the Polk 12bs this afternoon. I unhooked them from my JVC receiver yesterday.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
Polk SDA 1-B’s, a parasound A-23 amp, Parasound C-2 pre/processor. Nothing crazy but I’m very happy with my sound, for the money that I have invested. The polks I picked up at an estate sale for $125 and they are perfect! I was quite happy! 😃
So far they are sounding as excellent as I remember.
Dhaval, already have an NS Incanto DAC...no need to sell me on how awesome they are...just on funding since my mad money fund is absolutely tapped out heh. PCs are Pangea AC9s and AC14SEs
Marc, the VTLs are sounding really nice with em. Hard to replace the silky smooth I have with the silky smooth I don’t have.

New speakers have been set up...the pictures don't do the finish justice. Absolutely gorgeous.
Looks awesome Is that a Kenwood KD-500 tt? Maybe the front badge is missing?

Yes, the whole stereo needs to break in again since I turned everything off while the one amp was gone. That’s fine though. Just means I will appreciate it more. However, after listening to a TV music channel with a sound bar, the stereo sounds awesome.

When I got the Canary in? Bliss....faded off to a tad bit less than bliss.Changed the tubes? EXCELLENCE redefined until about a week in when the entire system sounded like crap.
Two weeks later? Better than I had ever thought possible. Good things come to those who wait.

I had a BIG Thunder storm roll through here tonight.
I had just plugged the Tritons back in the other day and also my big NAD receiver too.
After hearing a couple BIG booms in the distance and coming my way, I went out in the pouring rain ( with an umbrella ) and unplugged everything. EVERYTHING. They'll live for another session or more.
We get some big bolts down here! No surge protector can protect against these things.

LOL...
NO. Some or most of my stereo stuff is out in an outbuilding at the end of my driveway. 20 ft. away probably from the back of my house. You can see the house's back porch roof on the left in this picture. The water from the deluge tonight put an inch deep water level on the drive.

Thanks to @sgmsmg I've been falling for the sound of my SDAs connected to my Halo A21 by a like new pair of Wireworld Eclipse Silver 7s. First thing I had to do is lower the gain on my sub! Great bass. Improved clarity and articulation in all ranges. Feeling very fortunate tonight.

Finally made some open baffles for Hartley 10" full range MSG220 drivers. I thought they sounded magical just sitting on bean bags on the floor a few weeks ago. When I brought them in and listened a couple hours ago, I thought the imaging was not as good as I remembered.
I made some placement adjustments and now they're sounding much better. I think part of the problem was all the noise coming from the kitchen (and my wife's messed up priorities). Sounding pretty daggum good now.
Jonathan Wilson's Gentle Spirit is deep, WIDE and trippy. And, whoa, Jenny Lewis' Acid Tongue is very present and organic, background singers layered and lovely. FMac's Long Grey Mare is jolting, forceful, and very wide, but it has sounded better on other rigs. VSQ's Such Great Heights is live in-the-room . I can sense resin on the bows. And very dynamic.
The big-sound drama of Kiwanuka's Cold Little Heart is off though. Too granular. I think I had the volume too high, but I really enjoy the trippy layers of this song. Reminded me of Maggies that are not set up exactly right. Disappointing that they didn't handle that song well at all. Van's Three Chords and the Truth didn't boogie as much as it should. Draw Your Swords was excellent. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs' Obras Cumbres swings nicely with excellent percussion but overall lacked the musicality heard on other rigs.
So hit and miss. This is my first attempt at open baffle, so maybe something is off there. I'll try again later with new ears and more energy; but I'm pretty disappointed that I was not blown away tonight like I was when I had them sitting on the floor the first night.

First intention was to find an SS Amp for a back-up. After listening to the A21 for a short while, I may rethink that position
