    There is still a lot of "deadly weapon" related violence in Canada. Not as much per capita as the USA necessarily, but it still exists and seems to be a growing problem around here.     Personally, I believe any idiot that wanders in to strange houses/apartments deserves whatever happens just for being so damn stupid. It's looking more and more like this kid's death was inevitable, it just happened sooner than expected. (Complete assumption!!!)

    2. grammar and spelling are only a reward of the learning process much like school ,true maturity comes from experience by making mistakes and learning from it . I'm young and playfull and still learning

    I'm totally serious, and not just trying to insult you. YOu're trying to have a "debate" here, and you expect people to take you seriously, but you write like a fifth grader. In this kind of forum, all people have to go on when they judge you is the way you express yourself. You express yourself like a learning disabled child. It doesn't matter how old you are, you're old enough to be on the Internet then you must have gotten enough education to be able to spell.

    Agreed with you, there are areas in Canada where crime is more predominent. Gatineau is sure not perfect either. As I mentioned I made sure the odds where on our side when raising my family. In fact, the agent and I didn't solely considered the type of home and the budget $$$ when selecting the home. The type of family, the type of people we are was also an important factor and definitely played in our favor. In 22 years in the same house, never a single issue either in my home or any other home in the neighboorhood. Luck or figuring out the odds that matched our requirement and values? There are other neighboorhood in Gatineau which I would admit not being as proper. I've had my issues with some people, never ran away from any of them but it never resulted in any killing. However, you should agree the weapon ruling in Canada isn't as free for all as it would be elswhere and I am convinced it does have a tremendous effect. As a former military, I had the chance to travel the country and yet never found any big issues but I also admit knowing where your place is and keeping it can go a long way.

    What is the story about separation? I am speaking as a French Canadian, never ever I ever spoke as a Quebec separatist, I never did and never will associate with such!

    I love the US too and do have friends thwere too... still, while both countries have many similarities there are also some differences and view on guns is definitively one of them. Who is right or wrong is totally irrelevant but it doesn't stop one from thinking about the difference and ask himself some serious questions about the potential end result of such difference.
    You wouldn't happen to be French-Canadian would you? That would explain the lack of the male instinct to protect what is his as they have successfully breed that out of their society.

    French? Canadian? Who cares, big deal! The fact is simple, I never needed a weapon to back me up or to protect my family. Maybe being 6' 2" has helped a bit and luckily no one has been scrared of me to the point of even thinking of shooting me :cool:

    I really don't know what this has to do with the subject at hand... unless you simply are trying to derail the thread? As mentioned, my prime language is French and I am bound to make more mistakes than many here and never yet someone has tried to point my potential typos but ratter focus on the discussion at hand.

    listen to what hearing imp has said because its the truth. My grammar aint gona improve overnight. But you still know what i'm saying , when people annoy me it makes me sway from what the opinions are and bite. I cant help getting annoyed by people like bob being a smartass by correcting me in an insulting snotty manner .I dont give a rats **** how many posts some1 has or how much respect the have for audio, i only care for people who have respect for other people.The reason i opend this thread up is for respect for the human life, my opinion is that the guy who shot the boy doesnt have enough respect for human life .I also think god know what happend and this man will surely burn in hell

    You are right. Our weapons laws are more stringent than many other places, and it is quite a shame. Also, yes, our current firearms control has had a tremendous effect, but only one. It has wasted LOTS of money.

    The gun registry has cost taxpayers many many millions of dollars and it hasn't done JACK, other than waste money through beaurocracy. In fact, the only statistic that was actually dug up and used as "proof" that the registry works, is that suicides by gun went down after the registry was implemented. Guess what? For the same time frame specified, suicides by hanging went up almost the exact same amount.

    I can't understand how people can possibly let themselves be convinced that gun control is worthwhile.

    Bob wasnt being a smartass he was being helpful, you chose to take it as being a smartass comment. Others here on this forum in other threads have also commented on your obvious use of slang terms and childlike writing. It is obvious to everyone here you can at will type a sentence that everyone can understand you simply choose not too is all. And yes most of us can decipher what you write but why should we have too suffer through it?


    Just like your name says, "slow" down when writing take the extra time to type out full words instead of things like b4 ic 2day etc and people will respect you for it. Everyone makes mistakes with spelling and thats ok but not 20 mistakes in a single post.
