Where we are now:I came to this forum site as a owner of Polk speakers in my HT setup.THANK GOODNESS FOR THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HERE WITH A FOND SPIRIT FOR HEALTHY DEBATE.
Where we started out:Ok been around this hobby for 25 years.Most of this speaker cable -interconect stuff is ****!!YOU GUYS HAVE SOME SERIOUS TWEAKING TO DO BECAUSE THIS MEANS THAT SIGNAL TRAVELING FROM YOUR CD ON **** PCB TRACK THEN GOES THROUGH YOUR 250USD+ INTERCONNECT ONLY TO RESUME ITS SIGNAL ON ANOTHER CHINESE **** PCB TRACK UNTIL THE SPEAKER OUTS HAHAHA THEN WHEN IT REACHES YOUR SPEAKER AFTER TRAVELING THROUGH YOUR 1000USD + SPEAKER CABLE IT RUNS THROUGH YOUR KOREAN PASSIVE CROSSOVER WITH MEASLY TRACKS TO YOUR SPEAKERS WITH YOUR SPEAKER MANUFACTURERS **** CABLE TO THE SPEAKER HAHAHA GIVE YOURSELVES A BREAK GUYS FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!
Who here agrees that "healthy debate" begins with insulting the intelligence of the members? For example, we are characterized above as using $1,000 power cords with cheap, low quality electronics. A little brash? If you had said that cables matter, but you can get there for
a lot less with a cat 5 DIY, we could accept that. But no, crap in the middle of
dance hall floor and expect a warm greeting? I've looked at using cat 5
before, but found another cost effective(heavily discounted) cable.
There's healthy debate, and then there's not so healthy debate.

Using $1000 power cords in a home with expensive electronics is still a waste of money. That is the point that the rational have tried to make. Seafire hit it on the head with the pack mentality on here. It is unfortunate and I would expect better.
Darqueknight does in fact make extremely eloquent arguments and is mostly rational in his comments (although he does make some unfounded assumptions, as we all sometimes do). The others typically chime with excessive rudeness and crudeness that doesn't contribute at all and causes the discussion to deteriorate. Enough said. Thank me.

I went back to that spot in 2007, was there in 2001, and 2006. In 2001, I lived in for 6 months at the Hilton and it was the highlight of my traveling, life seems a lot simpler back then (before 911).

They are in fact the BIG and ONLY problem in this thread! Take away all the bullying, irrelevant comments and insults and this thread might actually be of some use.
