Why can't we just post related to the original thread? Why is it every time American autos are brought up it ends up in a stupid argument?

What is this, the new cable debate?

This whole thread was started by rskarvan to promote his pro-UAW point of view. If it had simply been started as a tribute to the American cars, I would agree with you....but it wasn't.

Both sides had an agenda. Where's YOUR car picture?

1979 Trans am. This isn't my picture. I need to break out the scanner.
#1 son's first car was a one owner 1979 Trans am in Brown/gold.
Neighbor had it parked out front. He asked my son how much money
he had. Of course he blurted it out. His response: you'll need some money
to fix her up. How about $2000. That should leave you enough to get started
    on it!
That was a guy that loved his car. Instead of top dollar, he wanted it restored!
401 Olds motor/auto/air. No T-tops. Only rust was on top the roof!
Arizona car. With 2.41 gears, it was running 2200 rpm at road speed.
Not fast out of the hole, but would keep right on accelerating till you ran
    out of balls.

Shack... I disagree with you entirely. The whole purpose of this thread was to promote GREAT AMERICAN CARS & TRUCKS!!! The fact that they are built by union workers is incidental. The fact that they are AMERICAN BUILT VEHICLES is important though.

    What a pantload.

My next new car will more than likely be an American built BMW, built in Greenville, SC.

The notiont that I'm obligated to support the big three out of patriotism is so far out of whack it's not worth discussing. Insulating yourself from competition? THAT is a tenet of communism.

 Waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my price range ;) Only 547 built. 1555 for the 20th anniversary TA. Pretty rare indeed. I think you can purchase a GN & "clone" a GNX for a lot le$$ :)

I paid $9000 for my Turbo T in 1994. It had 50K when I bought it. It was white with black trim. Mean as hell. I miss it.

I got to see one of those LS7 crate motors recently...He bought it to but in his 6.0L GTO....I can't think of a better way to spend 24k than on a motor and fuel injection system.....That is just motor and fuelie system to your door, god knows how much it will cost to get that thing shoe-horned in there....

Why not just do a head & cam ? It would of cost maybe 5K installed....A nice HP boost.

Something about wanting a LS7 in his GTO.....He has too much money for his own good....Single pilots...I am trying to get his LS2 off him cheap....I don't have a car for it now, but I am sure I could find something in the near future if he lets it go cheap (or free)......

Yes a LS7 in a GTO is different but a C6 Z06 you get the total package in a lightweight car.
