***The Compendium 2E is Sold Out as of 10/30/07. Thanks to everyone for their enthusiastic support.***

I have finished the preliminary work on the SDA Compendium 2nd Edition. The cover art and table of contents are attached.

I have not worked out whether I will fill the orders myself or use a fulfillment service. I expect to have that resolved in a couple of weeks. In any event, there will be a discount for forum members. I will post a notice in the Flea Market when all the business details are settled.

The Compendium 2E is 126 pages long and has 82 pages in the main body and 44 pages of appendices (the 1st edition was a 80 pages total). There are 27 pages of full color photographs. The main differences between 1E and 2E are (1) an expanded modification chapter, (2) a new chapter devoted to the new silk dome tweeters, and (3) an expanded buyer’s guide chapter.

I wouldn't be too optimistic. It is far easier to be an expert on something if you do not have any first-hand, objective knowledge of a subject.

I'll start shopping around a screenplay based on the book next month. The plot goes like this: An SDA cultist and high-end audiophile receives an ultimatum from his wife of 2 years that she wants to redocorate "her" living room and that his beloved SRS 1.2TL's have to go. She doesn't mean go to another room, they have to go out of the house (as in sold or (gasp, choke) donated to charity). She wants to replace the SDA's, Pass Labs amps, Clearaudio turntable, and Sony SACD player with a "more modern" Bose all-in-one system.

Clearly, the protagonist has some tough choices to make. This will be written as a psycological thriller. It will be interesting to see the battle of wits between the husband and wife as he schemes to keep his SDA's and a happy marriage and she schemes for total control over their (her) home's decor. I'm hoping we can get Brad and Angelina for the lead roles.

    Excellent.

When you are ready, put me down for one - if it's done by Polkfest - it'll make a great raffle item.

I think there was talk of when you hold it, it plays the theme from 2001, Sprach Zarathustra....via pre-recorded microchip.

I'm hoping we can get Brad and Angelina for the lead roles.

If this works out I hope it gets a "R" rating for lots of full frontal nudity. (Angelina and the SDAs - NOT PITT! :( )

I got mine the other day and just sat down last night to go through it. VERY NICE! I was very happy with everything but especially the upgrade descriptions and the response curve documentation of the tweeters. This is a must have for anyone who owns or wants to own an SDA system! Better buy it now while they are still plentiful. I'm talking from experience here. :)
