I did something amusing last night.
For the past month or so - and for no particular reason - I've been listening to a Yamaha (early, i.e., Dolby ProLogic-era) soiled solid state Yamaha receiver and a Samsung multiformat DVD player. Both foundlings, sans remotes. At the moment, the receiver's connected to a pair of :p Polk Audio Monitor 5 (5B? Series 2? -- at any rate, these have the SL2000 tweeters).

Sat down to listen for a few minutes last night. Thought it'd be nice to be able to skip tracks on the Samsung. Further thought "there's a universal remote control in the closet" and got it out. Got batteries for it, found the programming codes and, after two tries, the player was under control.

Listened for a few minutes and thought* "hmm... I wonder... maybe this 'universal' remote will work the receiver, too?!". Got it on the first try.

Heh -- I've joined the late 20th Century!

^^^^ John and Yoko preceded that with Two Virgins.

The only way to make the new 705's that are coming work,
I have to split off the 2-channel. With impromptu stands:

I know, my cable management leaves a little to be desired. I don't have a whole lot of room to work with. My future plans of dealing with it is to have is to have a new audio rack built. Maybe after the holidays.

my cable management style is pretty much of a piece with my personnel management style. Folks who worked for me seemed to like it, but... umm... it was pretty chaotic. :|

With me, it's one of those things that it does bother me a little bit, but I'm not going to touch it unless I can do it right. That probably means a new rack and possibly a new power conditioner. At least it doesn't buzz, hum, catch fire or anything like that. I must admit though, since this new preamp is a top loader, it kind of took a turn for the worse. So far, it sounds pretty good. So, for the time being, I'm content.

I made a port muffler out of some rolled up 3/4" strips of ScotchBrite pads and inserted them into the ports, with a marked improvement in the bass.
I also backed my KEFs up closer to the wall and spread them out as far as I could without obstructing the closet door.
This seemed to make the speakers "disappear" into the soundstage.
I also moved the sub foward a few inches.
All in all, I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Will be interesting to see what you think of them (with that ol' STK-module-era Pioneer or other drivin' power). Also I will be interested to know what you put 'em on and how you have them arranged in the listening space.

I've been listening to the 6.2s for quite a while, on and off, and I am still on the fence about them.

Placement won’t be optimal. They’re actually going on top of my gun safe, on either side of the receiver. I may wall mount them later, to spread them out a bit. I had the sx-780 in a Huge shop before driving some Energy C-9 towers, and it impressed.j

The best I've done, to date, with the 6.2s was (and I wouldn't admit this just anywhere) a pair of old "TV Tables" (remember them?) :p

Very '80s -- the ones we have.
I mean, I grew up with the early 60s style TV tables (all metal, aluminum, perhaps) -- just made to be graced with a Swanson TV Dinner. :|
