Time for a Tidal or Qobuz subscription!
Interface first -- then, yes, maybe so...
I tend to be about a decade late adopting "new trends" in hifi. Usually saves me some $.

I did it again, I pulled them away from the back wall. I do this every once in a while so that my wife doesn't notice.

I asked Tidal a while back if they had an editorial industry accommodation rate and they said no. Meanwhile Qobuz gave a complimentary year subscription when asked the same. -

They are currently pushing a "Rock the Vote" campaign. I think I posted it in the deals thread. 4 months for $20.20. I was waiting for a longer trial period before I jumped into it. They generally do a 3 month trial for a few bucks for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
Certainly beats the normal 30 day trial for anyone on the fence.
I'm also going to keep my eye out for gift card sales on black friday. I know groupon has done it before. Usually something like $10 or $15 for a $20 gift card.
If they do that again I'll max out on how many can be ordered and just apply them to my account.

Ha ha !!
I feel your pain , brother !
My rig was banished to the closet 16 years ago with the birth of my son ....
There it sat until finally 2 years ago I talked the wife into letting me put it in the bedroom ......
It’s still there , but now I have managed to talk her into a better system which now resides in the den .... ha ha ha !
Salks , PS Audio , Cambridge Audio and a new 65” Sony OLED ..... little did she know ....

Going to store the SDA, Denon and Adcom. Currently have my turntable, Denon SACD player and the Technics that I won in a karma from Doc in the bedroom.
Sad day but I'm lucky she let me set up a bedroom stereo.

I did something amusing last night.
For the past month or so - and for no particular reason - I've been listening to a Yamaha (early, i.e., Dolby ProLogic-era) soiled solid state Yamaha receiver and a Samsung multiformat DVD player. Both foundlings, sans remotes. At the moment, the receiver's connected to a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 5 (5B? Series 2? -- at any rate, these have the SL2000 tweeters).
Sat down to listen for a few minutes last night. Thought it'd be nice to be able to skip tracks on the Samsung. Further thought "there's a universal remote control in the closet" and got it out. Got batteries for it, found the programming codes and, after two tries, the player was under control.
Listened for a few minutes and thought* "hmm... I wonder... maybe this 'universal' remote will work the receiver, too?!". Got it on the first try.
Heh -- I've joined the late 20th Century!

I know, my cable management leaves a little to be desired. I don't have a whole lot of room to work with. My future plans of dealing with it is to have is to have a new audio rack built. my cable management style is pretty much of a piece with my personnel management style. Folks who worked for me seemed to like it, but... umm... it was pretty chaotic.
-
With me, it's one of those things that it does bother me a little bit, but I'm not going to touch it unless I can do it right. That probably means a new rack and possibly a new power conditioner. At least it doesn't buzz, hum, catch fire or anything like that. I must admit though, since this new preamp is a top loader, it kind of took a turn for the worse. So far, it sounds pretty good. So, for the time being, I'm content.Decware CSP3 Preamp, RCA 6DJ8, 2 X Rocket 6N1P-EV's, Cary SLA70B Signature V2 Amplifier: 2 X Mullard GZ32's, 2 X RCA/GE 5691's, 4 X Tung-Sol 6550's

I made a port muffler out of some rolled up 3/4" strips of ScotchBrite pads and inserted them into the ports, with a marked improvement in the bass.
I also backed my KEFs up closer to the wall and spread them out as far as I could without obstructing the closet door.
This seemed to make the speakers "disappear" into the soundstage.
I also moved the sub foward a few inches.
All in all, I'm quite happy with the outcome.اعضا -

BUT SHE DID FINALLY NOTICE THEM.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
