Thanks! They are infinitesimals 1.5's. The Black Walnut looks a bit more purple-ish than it really is. I'll take a couple of pics once they are buttoned-up.

Nothing today. Other than turning it on Thursday so it would be warmed up Friday night I have just listened to it. However, tonight (Saturday) it sounds more analytical. I never noticed that before, and it makes me wonder if for some reason my hearing is different today.

Wife brought home a Centipedes-Millipedes game for me and I added it to the mix. One of the few games I'll play and did play some 35-40 years ago. The new game is true to form like the old one that I used to put quarters in. That damn spider still keeps killing me to

I used to love playing Centepede many years ago.

    Nice Mac gear.

My then girlfriend (now wife) & I used enjoy playing a variant (ahem rip-off) thereof called Bug Attack on an Apple II Plus that was used as an instrument controller on those long, dark, nights in the lab. :)

    Thanks for your kind words.

The engraving is my own doing. Although I do have access to a couple of CNC routers, this was done using a GCC Spirit GLS Laser.

Well -- I've gotten as far as mounting an expedition to The Basement Zone (terra incognita) and disinterring my trusty, ca. 1975 vintage EVG (as in EV Game as in Electrovoice ) 4 amp 12 VDC linear power supply. Regulated, baby! Made in Taiwan B)

It is (literally) warming up before I try puttin' juice to it. I don't think it's been used in a couple of decades. :|

This was the DC power supply I used with my trusty Panasonic RJ-3100 CB radio* back in those days.

    Further details as events warrant.

When I purchased my 2.3TL's a couple years ago, they had the four replacement 6510's in the dimensional location.

So I wanted to replace them with the original version of 6510's mainly for comparison. Been acquiring them for about 6 months, so I swapped them out yesterday and I noticed immediately some of the lower midrange was not as pronounced.

This seemed to result in the vocals having slightly more resolution as well as the SDA imaging. I don't believe the lower midrange as well as most of the midrange was negatively affected with the swap back to the OE drivers, overall I was quite pleased with all the OE drivers in place.

I'm curious as to the specs of the replacement 6510's, are they exactly the same or a slight difference in 1 or more areas?

Could be a delicate area of tuning between the two drivers where my room amplifies the difference. Either way, some lyrics were much cleaner now than before and could be from a slight resonance the other drivers gave to my front wall...just enough to throw things off...not sure, purely a guess.

Also, the passive push-test, with the replacement 6510's, the drivers retracted very slow, in the 4-5 second range, and stayed out only very briefly before retracting.

The OE drivers remain extended for about a full second before very slowly retracting. I know small air leaks can play a big part, I will say the OE drivers not having to cut the rubber for the screws, definitely remove some human error in regards to leaks, but the difference between the two drivers was very, very slight in regards to the push-test.

I believe having the same driver compliment throughout helps keep everything in check, especially with the SDA.
