Took advantage of the rebuild to put some paint on the wall. Wife wanted something darker and more dramatic, “it’s a fun room, not a kids play room, I want it dark and dramatic”. So I must oblige since she lets me keep my expensive **** stereo equipment and kegerator up there without any push back. It’s a bit dark for my tastes but I’m sure it will look great during the day with a lot of natural light up there

Love it! I once had an HT with navy blue walls all around. It was pretty awesome IMO.

That color looks like a cross between deck grey and navy blue. I like it! I suspect the TV screen will blend in to the wall very well. Also, it sounds like your wife is a keeper! Audio room with tasty cold beverage dispenser, yes please....

I think that's a great looking color stangman67 for a listening-fun room. How about a pic of the kegerator?

That looks awesome! Pouring what looks like a delicious Hazy IPA. Breweries are one of very few things I miss about San Diego.

Plenty of good breweries almost everywhere now. I lived in San Diego for a few years. Norfolk now and the microbrewery scene is great

I lived in Norfolk a long time ago. I do remember the beer scene being pretty good even then. I recall a few nice tap rooms in Ghent.

I live in Colonial Place which is in the same area as Ghent. I can walk to three breweries and there’s 7-8 more within a 5 minute drive

I like dark and light colors, I got tired of anything brown/tan or gold/brass, everything in my house has been replaced or painted that had anything with those colors..

Today was new stylus day in my house. The Signet cartridge was installed on a Technics SL-Q2 that I picked up last summer. The Shure was on a Dual 1229 that my wife drug home from a recent trip to some local thrift stores. I thought the stylus on the signet was worn, installing the new stylus confirmed it. The Shure V15 sounds about the same leading me to believe the "old stylus was in at least decent shape. The poor Dual was trashed so that was a surprise.

That color is just a little too dark. You should repaint it before it's too late. ;)

The room looks great, but what is up with the two outlets under the tv?

The Outlet on the right is part of a hidden tv wiring kit. Actually pretty nifty. Made by LEGRAND

I'm probably going to get one of those kits if we ever mount the TV on the wall. It got good reviews.

I think it is awesome, I bought the variant with USBs in the outlet so I could power my LED strip lights and Roku without having to use power bricks. Super easy to install and very functional

So is it a short extension cord that just takes power from the left outlet (existing outlet) to the right outlet that then runs up behind the wall to an outlet for the TV? Seems like a cleaner more hidden look could be achieved by just installing an outlet behind the TV and then dropping a wire to the back of the existing outlet.

Yup that is exactly what it is. And yes I could have just put an outlet back there, but I’m his was easier and I like the result. You can also run additional a/v cables from the lower outlet and through the main box behind the tv without cutting additional holes.

Many ways to do it, this is a good option that I like
