I don't think dogs would work quite as well in this application as cats.
Maybe little yippy dogs would be OK, as long as they didn't piddle on the vinyls.
Maybe pugs could do it.

In unrelated news, the "Stereo sound" reported the mysterious disappearce of 17 vinyl records from their "Perry Como" and "AC/DC" racks.
