    It's a KSW-10, and rated +/-3dB down to 29Hz.

of course ultimately let your ears decide in your room, and I have never owned that exact sub. But I have owned numerous mass market 10 inch ported subs from polk, klipsch, dayton audio, etc., and first they almost never come close to their rated extension, and second they are usually one note flab machines. As much as I love bass, I would rather have a little less but it be tight, accurate, fast, and textured, than more fat, bloated bass...

The Mezzo utopia definitely hits 30hz with authority. No shortness of bass in my room.

Bass can definitely be room dependent

As Trey can attest, there is a massive lack in my space and a sub is definitely needed. So yes, each room dependent.

You can actually see in the stereophile response graph almost exactly what I experience in my room

J&B Audio gave me a great deal on one! ;) I made an offer, they accepted and now I have a great looking old Pioneer to be proud of.

I hooked-up a frequency tone generator today, and actually could hear it down to 30Hz. I guess one of bass test songs yesterday was going even lower, which I could not hear. It was a Basstronics song.

I actually listen to mostly electronic music, therefore sub 30hz is very common. Towers typically don’t do those tones any favors.

One day whenever my house is done, which I'm hoping is next month, inspections are killing me, then I can set up my rig and have you guys over haha, already have my external crossover conversion in the works, chassis at the powder coated, the wood side panels and all

Swapped out my Signal cable XLR's for Kimber Hero XLR's between the DAC and amplifier. The Hero just does a better job flushing out midrange, and the bass control appears more accurate and articulate. I was pretty amazed with the differences, as my hearing hasn't been great for the last couple years.

Jody, if you are referring to "Bass I love You", there is are "sub-bass" tones at 36hz, 34hz, 33hz, 31hz, 17hz, and 7hz. On my sealed 18s, you can almost count the cycles of the 7hz tone it moves so much/so slow.

Yep, that's the one B) I wanted to hear those (practically) subsonic tones, but the floor-standers were not cutting the mustard. I could see my woofers shaking violently, but no actual sound was detectable.

A couple other songs I was testing were:
    - Flight of the Cosmic Hippo, by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
    - Limit To Your Love, by James Blake (the bass in this song kicks in around the 60 sec mark with an electronic effect, but eventually turns more...um...musical; there are a few odd pauses in this song, so don't let that throw you)

yeah the Mezzo wont do any justice for anything that low, but the woofers will still move

What song? Bass I Love You or the Techmaster? I used to bump that techmaster intro in high school on some Boston Pro 10s, then to some ridiculously insane SoundStream SPL 12s. (When SoundStream was SoundStream) They just worked in my car. Ran them on a JBL GTQ400 amp.

Image taken from google. But same subs.
