Just got some Herbie's slider feet. Thinking I maybe should have sprung for the big ones for actual sliding, but these will help protect our new carpet.

    Begging the question.
What sorts of sliding are non-actual?
    Inquiring minds want to know.

Looks like they're supposed to go under spikes and maybe they have some sort of damping compound on the inside with a rounded slippery plastic bottom?

What kind of floor do you have under the carpet.....floating wood floor over concrete, concrete, wood floor with joist construction over another room?......

So the carpet pad has enough spring that these sink in a little, so getting the whole rack sliding requires a bit of finesse to get it started as they slide up out of their indentations.

I think the larger sliders in my situation would have had enough surface area to prevent that.

They are Ushers but I can't remember the specific model number off the top of my head.

@ZLTFUL was on the right track. Usher T-515. Picked them up from Skip last year when I was ready for a shift from my JBLs, which I just sold actually.

@Gardenstater I think the picture makes the room feel bigger than it actually is, but it is a decent size bedroom at 13x15. Really excited to have a dedicated space for all this.

Did you try placing the stereo along the long wall? From the picture that would appear to open up the sound stage.

I was considered, but it makes the room much less functional for other purposes. With this configuration we can drop in an air mattress for guests if needed, pop up a card table for games, crafts, etc etc.

I also have no intention of moving those records again for at least 5 years. Just getting them all up the stairs was enough of a task in it self.

I should add that I lobbied for the records on the back wall behind the listening position, but the aesthetic compromise is what won out. Can't complain too much when I'm lucky enough to have a space like this in the first place.

Yeah you are lucky. Most of my friends who happen to be married would never be allowed to have a dedicated listening room. Mine is smaller at 10-3/4ft x 15-1/4 ft

It helps that she has just as many records as I do. She's never been into the gear side as much, but she does get it and certainly enjoys it when we just sit and listen to music together.

Not really my stereo but the replacement for it in the living room. Wife won this round.

Hung the TV and the 3.1 Samsung soundbar.

My wife and I just came to the same compromise. The living room is her space to decorate and organize. I tucked a small stereo in, but she dictated where everything is. In return I put all my audio stuff in one room. I would prefer it was in the living room because I think the larger speakers would do better in a bigger room, but I am sure she prefer all my stereo stuff be in the garage. Oh, the sacrifices we make for domestic tranquility....
