No it's okay.Doh! I imagine this is breaking the post rule for newbies to see the FS section then, Ken if you see this can you delete my post? Sorry!
FS section is limited to members with certain posts.
Your post is a link to local CL ad so that's not the same thing even though it's the same speakers.
I just wanted to inform that the seller is a polkie and has them in FS section.

Ummmm, yes. Is that a bad thing? -
http://www.soundandvision.com/content/onkyo-tx-sr806-av-receiver-ht-labs-measures
You should get more WPC at 4 vs 8 ohms but distortion and heat will increase.
That all depends on the design of the amplifier. If it was made to only handle 8 ohms then it may very well put out less wpc into 4 and possibly even be a dangerous situation for the equipment. Some that are 4 ohm compatible drop wattage into 4 ohms because they band aided it to handle 4 ohms. Putting a 4 ohm load on an amp rated for 8 ohms makes it pull more current through the transistors and can lead to a thermal mess that causes parts to burn up. it can also send a spike through to the speakers and make them toast. Remember not all amps are created equal, and if they were we would all be using the same thing. -

Something strange? he even states they are "2" not 2.3
Besides if I was selling something like that I would provide more and better picturesSeems strange to me that the first 2 pictures are most definitely 2.3s with the donut drivers and the third picture is of the back of an SRS 2...POLK SDA 2.3 TLS BOUGHT NEW IN 1990, Gimpod/Sonic Caps/Mills RDO-198

More than 1 set of SDA 2.3 are labeled as simply "2"
Here is where I got mine and they were also listed as "2" by the seller...fortunate for me. Believe the front pictures, not the label.

What's rare, the subwoofer? Does the crossover take out all midrange on that thing? Pretty interesting, using the bottom half of an RTA12 as a subwoofer.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Well...it's a woofer, but is it really a SUB-woofer?What's rare, the subwoofer? Does the crossover take out all midrange on that thing? Pretty interesting, using the bottom half of an RTA12 as a subwoofer.
As I recall, one mid/woofer is driven by each channel, so the crossover would be very different from an RTA12.
