What do you think about corner placement of the Sub?

You typically will get more gain but depending on your room it may not have the best sound. Need REW or something like it to find best placement to remove as many dips as possible and then EQ to clip the peaks.

I wonder what kind of correctly setup single sub will sound better than duals that are setup correctly.

IS that even possible ? duals setup correctly will have more output than a correctly setup single. I guess it depends on what you are trying to do.

I ended up picking one the these up tonight. They're better looking in person than in pics. I am so curious to see how it will compare to the PB12+2 I just recently sold. Gonna have to wait until I have the house to myself though. Mama-bear (GF) doesn't appreciate fine subwoofers.

A word to describe this sub. WOW. I have been without my PB12+2 for a little over a month. After playing songs ( I haven't played any movies yet) from various artists from (Toto- Bone Thugs&Harmony) using the factory settings this sub is right on. Not that the PB+2 was sloppy but IMO the Ultra is much more tight, accurate and in your face when you want it to be. The bass is unbelievable and I had the gain set a little past 12 o-clock. I can't imagine running two of these. I was a little reserved about getting this due to the single as opposed to 2 woofers and smaller amp. Ron at SVS emailed me and basically said...no worries I won't be disappointed. That was an understatement. I couldn't be happier. This sub comes highly recommended and to be honest... again IMO. This sub runs circles around my old PB12+2.

If you have REW or something like it to find best placement and use the PEQ filter assuming one is all you need. It will sound even better. If you need more than one filter then use a BFD 1124

Mine is one of the first off the line 2 years ago. It's a wonderful sub and a joy everyday. Yours has been improved, both the driver and the amp. Enjoy. While the output of the Ultra is similar to the /2+, there's no comparison with it's impactful midbass, deep bass and minimal ringing. Get it dialed and calibrated, it will (probably) never disappoint.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

I've wondered this same thing myself. It is amazing that a single 13.5" ultra can outperform dual 12's.

    Kudos to SVS.

I really want to sell both my +2s and go for dual Ultras. I know the impact would be sick. Shipping kills the deal but I will check with SVS again and see what they can work out. I have been wanting these for awhile. How is the Ultra relative to size compared to the +2? Roughly same size or smaller footprint?

Ours is rosenut as well. It's the best color in my opinion. While it doesn't completely match our cherry Polks it blends in just fine. I also much prefer it's looks to the Plus 2, I love looking at the driver when it's really moving, or even when its sitting still. Here's a couple pictures of our minature schnauzer snuggling up to it (he doesn't go near it when there is a lot of air flowing out of the ports...)
