I've been reconfiguring my speaker storage and decided to move them for easier accsess when I wat to swap them out.
It's a lot easier now without have to go fishing in the closet.
Really enjoying the new foam collars that I made my full rangers.
I may experimnt with different density foams in the future.
Are those Dayton drivers? I've been wanting to try some full range drivers for a long time.
I see two things very wrong here. Black Velvet and what appears to be a inordinate amount of pubic hair on those speakers.
After many drinks, those port holes could look tempting.... to some

Yes, they're the 6.5" full range and I like them, but they do have the typical midrange "honk" like most do.
I took care of that with a Schitt Loki EQ and my home made dampeners.
Decreasing the Loki's 8K knob, does wonders for removing syblence (or however the hell you spell it).
That's dust and cat fur you see on the speaker surrounds, which will happen to a speaker in this house without a screen on it.
It's hard to say the Dueventi is end game when I know the Evo 845 exists, lol.
Point taken. I’m glad you’re dig’n your system!
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get my ears on MastersounD
Could you briefly describe their house sound?
Thanks again
They are first and foremost amazingly quiet and when paired with appropriate speakers have solid dynamics for a tube amp. They don't provide the hardest hitting or fastest base compared to good solid state, but the top end is very refined and the imaging and depth they can produce is stunning.
I believe the Duventi specifically is a little more midrange forward than other models, but not to any extent where it feels overly elevated or overpowering the rest of the bandwidth. In general I find them to be quite balanced. But again, it's all about good speaker matching. I think you can only really evaluate an amp if you've heard it with several speakers. At this point I have heard the Duventi with a decent number of speakers, but I haven't heard near as variations on the higher up models. @marvda1 has a Compact 845, and he can probably speak in more detail about a "house" sound.
I can tell you I would take that 845 in a second if I could. It seems to have all the advantages of the Duventi, with some extra oomf when you need it.

I replaced all the electrolytic caps in my Forte preamp with Nichicon FG where they would fit and Panasonic FM caps everywhere else(mainly the power supply). I also upgraded the power supply diodes to ultra fast recovery versions... letting the new caps burn in now.
I added two lights for my turntables. Had been using the flex lights from ikea but those never really shined where I wanted them to. These seemed to have done the trick.

Oh, I'd bet you and the family thoroughly enjoy that! Nice, as always.
I think my favorite looking room you had was the LR? The rig where you had dual ML's or dual Quad's stacked on top of each other with some really nice gear associated with it. IIRC, this was about 10 years ago? Cool looking rig, to say the least...

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

Turned the amps on last night (Monday) before I went to bed. This gives them almost 24 hours to warm up so they will sound best for a Tuesday night music session.

Swapped out the KEF Q150's for the Polk Legend L200's
Hey Victor, glad to hear that they made it to your place.
The interesting question'll be if you (ever) want to switch back.
Mark, at the price of admission ($1799) they are, unfortunately, beyond my means at this time So, even if I wanted to swap them out permanently, it would be a long time before that would happen.

They still strike me as a bit pricey for what they are... but I am probably not their target market, anyway
@phipiper10 please do a review and compare them to Polk M5 and M7s if you have that ability to get your hands on one of those. Always interested in how the old Polks stand up to pricey but similarly sized well regarded speakers like Harbeths.

The Black Velvet bottle was found in my very first apartment in 1979.
I've used it for a door stop among other things over the last 40 years.

@tratliff nice. I have that same center too. Love Def Tech for HT purposes. What do you have for surrounds?
I have the Def Tech BP-2X and Def Tech Pro-Monitors. I also have two pair of Def Tech towers that are not in use.

They are a bit of overkill for watching TV. There is a 110" drop down screen, you can't see. We use it with a projector for watching movies.
