Testing out the ELAC Debut Reference DBR62 bookshelf speakers now. Very nice so far! Way better than the UB5's and UF5's I tried out in my last apartment (but that was on different gear and in a different listening environment/room).

Hi Joe,
They are in a shootout between these ^ and the Polk LSiM 703. I believe the 703's are winning but I'm giving the DBR62's a fair shot (I want the best sounding speakers to stay here). Glad you are enjoying your Adante's!Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

I notice you have the Rogue 180 Monoblocks. I was looking at a pair of those before I found this Belles amp. They were really nice but I was worried about the space they would take up as they wouldn't work inside my stereo cabinet (too much heat).Gustard X26 Pro DAC

SKS is a fun rifle.

I picked a couple Russian ones up back in the day when they were $90 each. I should have bought a thousand of them. They are hugely popular and not cheap any more. They are not a good long range rifle but at 100 yards or less they get the job done and ammo is ridiculously cheap.Gustard X26 Pro DAC

btw, I check the Gon pretty regularly. Ya know, “just look’n” ... i’d really like to mate the 180s with an RP-7 or RP-9 pre-amp. They’re far and few of em. Going on 5 yrs now and I’m pretty happy with them. Plenty of clean power.
Also, going to roll a pair of Telefunken 12AX7s in tomorrow 🤩.... and ammo is ridiculously cheap.

Wife left for brunch so I can turn it up!
Got my lights setup. They are working great. Puts good light directly on turntables without turning up the full room lights. All lights are also remote controlled. Each set having a different dimmer.

How are you liking the PrimaLuna?

The local big (relatively speaking) syrup producer has a little standalone reverse osmosis "plant" alongside the road that's down the hill from us; it was runnin' yesterday. It was 40 here yesterday. They get every drop they can -- that stuff is valuable.

Hi Tom, thanks for the warm welcome!
The PrimaLuna is a lot of fun! I got it NOS from Upscale Audio about a year ago. It came with KT88s, which I prefer to EL34s for deeper bass. I consider the amp’s midrange a little forward sounding with speakers that have a relatively flat frequency response.
Pairing the Prologue Five with the Jolida TubeDac III (two current production Tung-Sol 12ax7s in the output stage and no op amps) results in a liquid, smooth and textural presentation.
The speakers are Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo IIIs. These tend to sound recessed in the midrange with solid-state amps, and therefore, neutral with the PL amp for a synergistic match. The bass has a good balance of depth/body/speed, and the treble is sweet and detailed with the Vifa tweeter.

Man, I have to admit. I love folks that join in like you! You roll tubes, talk about your experiences, are not ashamed to talk smack about what you hear....
I look forward to your 10,000th post.
I may have a 12Ax7 for you for that Jolida...if you are not happy? Speak up.

I definitely don’t think all gear sounds the same. I can’t imagine a forum like this could exist if it did, there’d be nothing to say.
I’m all ears about the 12ax7 recommendation.

Butterbean, it may have lowered your noise floor offering you more of the actual music and less "noise".
