    Has anyone heard from doro about shipping cables back to him? I've emailed him twice in about 10 days and haven't gotten a response... Maybe my hotmail isn't getting to him...

    That's fine if he wants to take his time, I just want to make sure he's getting my email and that he doesn't think I'm trying to steal the cable. I'll give the power cord a good home until he's ready for it. :)

    If it were me.. i'd ship them back to him.... you never know when things might come back and bite you in the ****. :eek:

    you might be right Al, but Doro did say to contact him regarding sending the cables back. do they have his address? might not. I have it somewhere, but out of respect for mark wouldnt give it out without his permission. I emailed him to about something else, with no responce.

    Yep, out of the blue shut 'er down and I'm just in a holding pattern. I'm not going anywhere and I'll wait for Doro's instruction as he's the one that got it started. I'm in no hurry ;) .

    I don`t believe that Mark would think that anybody stole anything , or was not doing the right thing...

    I sent back the outlaws because it went directly to the owner. I was going to send the other cables; zebra and DIY homegrowns to you but then I thought you would want me to send it to the owners and I heard you were out of the country and I was hesitant to send the cables to a location if you weren't there.

    I'll contact BURNZY now and see where I should send it.

    For those individuals that demo'd cables prior to the shutdown, I will post the review threads when I get some free time. I'm directing this comment to the Zebra Cable(Scott) and Outlaw Cable(Ricardo) individuals, as they went above and beyond to contribute.

    It may only be a single Polk Forum review, due to the program closure, but the thread will be alive for any further activity.

    I ended this program for personal reasons...time.

    I would hope that everyone knows for the record, that only ONE, of the Club Polk, cable non-believers signed up for this FREE program. Just FYI and for your notes.

    Recently, there has been discussion as to the benefits of cables, or the subsequent negligible effect of cables.

    I am in the "Belief" category. I don't give one flying F whether you agree, as it's MY experience, and MY ears. What argument do you have for that? None.

    The question I pose to you is...

    "Do you establish what you own, on what you hear, or what you are told and/or read?"

    If I want to buy something, it's based on the information available to me from many sources. I have NEVER purchased something based solely on a forum, EVER...as in E V E R. Is it wrong to base your opinion on the masses? No, but is it exclusive? No.

    The cable non-believers, lead you to believe that those of us that do believe, are escorting you into a path of financial ruin. In reality, most of the suggestions are of nominal cost and often DIY types, not the 1K bracket of cables.

    I have heard the benefits of cables, but do you think I would spend some crazy amount of money on them? I am an MIT fan...guess what I've spent on them...$200/pair. That's real insane right? Monster Cable has GARBAGE available for that amount, if not higher in price but I'm CRAZY?!

    I encourage you to buy WTF you want, as I don't care. I buy what I want, and so should you.

    I believe in cables, to an F'n point of discovery. Do you honestly think I would spend 1K on a single cable because I read something? I work for a living if you didn't know, and N O I wouldn't. I have noticed a difference in cables, and I have stopped at the point at which I began to not notice anything.

    Let me make this perfectly clear, in regards to aftermarket interconnects...I don't care what you buy, because I own no vested interest in any product. You need to make your own decision and unless you put some effort into the process, you are just a rhetoric filled puppet.

    Good point Doro,

    The swap was free (less shipping to another Polkster) and there one could have found out for themselves weather or not there was any truth to the matter on a wide veriety of cables at many different price points. My guess is that the ones that have and spread the "no difference at all" word are either in no position to buy better cables or have equipment that would not benifit from better or just don't care, but the truth is for many there is a differance and every cable does have a place to assist in tailoring the sound to ones tastes. If you love everything about your piece of equipment but feel that the sound might be to bright or not bright enough but it has and does everything else you need then try different cables they might give the sound a nudge in the right direction for you and you then might not need to look at replacing that piece which can get quite costly (as we all know). Most improtantly the swap was free and you surely can't get to try all those cables for free from any retailor just for the heck of it.

    I was that one (if that isn't correct Mark - make it two non-believers :) ). I came in with certainty that cables were all the same.

    The one thing I've learned is that the level of gear you own is going to dictate whether or not you hear a difference with interconnects and cables. Green on the scene I had an Onkyo stereo receiver with a Kenwood CDP driving R50's. I could've plugged darn near any cable in there and not noticed a difference (I had the tone controls almost all the way up too).

    Now that I've had the chance to experiment with some other gear I can hear a difference in IC's and wire. I'll admit that, for me, it hasn't been a night and day difference but the difference is there.

    My experience is limited compared to many others on this forum.

    I am now of the belief that quality IC's and speaker cables do make a difference in a rig that will allow you to hear those differences. Whether or not you like those differences is up to you. Whether or not those differences are worth the $$$ is also entirely up to you.

    It all boils down to one thing IMHO: It's your money - do what you want with it.

    This is a hobby - it's supposed to be fun! :)

    This has been my posistion of late. While I have certainly enjoyed the discovery process myself AND reading the opinions of others, I no longer post my opinions on the subject. Why?

    Sorry I have not returned the ATC's and the King Cobras. I have no excuse. They have been boxed up in my office for the last two months. I will get them out ASAP.
