    If the reviews say "UNDER CONSTRUCTION", please feel free to post your reviews. It's only listed that way because I havn't had the time to formally dress it up, add cable data, etc.

    If you have not posted your reviews, please do so as soon as you can. It doesn't have to be extremely detailed or contain graphs or pie charts, just your opinion on the experience.

    I think Mark is only concerned about the Ethereal Cable demos. not all the other demos still going on.

    PM him to be sure. that's how i understand it. only the Ethereal cables.

    I wanted to post publically about our first member default of the FREE Polk Audio Forum Cable Swap Program(PCSP) in 1 1/2 years.

    I recently posted a request for a retraction of the Ethereal Cable demos. The reason behind this is due to the fact that a member, BRENT McCALL, an agent of Ethereal Cable, has defaulted in our most simple program rule.... "The demo-completed member should at that point contact the next participant and arrange shipping."

    Brent signed up for the Signal Cable Magic Power demo, and received the cable, yet never forwarded it to the next member.

    I don't even know if Brent demo'd the cable, but I know he recieved it and did not forward the cable to F1Nut.

    Let me clue you in on some history....

    I was turned on to Ethereal Cable by a member, who is totally not at fault in any way shape or form. I personally contacted Brent and he was very enthusiastic about donating to our program, as was I, because anything that I can add is a good thing for the group.

    It's an excellent PR thing for ANY of these companies, let alone a "startup", to get some recognition in this program IMO. Remember, not every demo has been positive, so it goes both ways, but that was the whole point of this in the end.

    We worked out a batch of cables for the demo, I made up the threads, launched the cables. I personally thought these demos would be realy cool, especially the video IC package.

    Brent was so excited about the program, that he wanted to join as well. He signed up for the Signal Cable Magic Power demo, as his company hadn't made the jump into power cables at that time.

    Hey, it's a win-win!

    Fast forward two months later.....Brent received the cable ages ago, never responded again, period. I think he replied to a thread awhile back, but you get the idea.

    I recently got fed up after leaving a few, courteous emails(Seriously, courteous), so I called him directly, beings I have his personal numbers....100% blown off. I spoke with him twice(2) on the phone, and both times have been told that he's busy and that he will call me back. I know we live in a busy world, but days/week between a call-back is extreme.

    I have TO DATE never received a call-back from Brent.

    Don't forget, Brent is an active employee OF Ethereal Cable....sales and marketing.

    I'm a really nice guy, contrary to popular belief, and it takes ALOT to set me off. Well, here we go folks....

    The program is simple, get a free demo of a product, and simply mail it to the next guy or gal. This cost can be via Next Day Air or Pony Express, who cares, just ship it.

    Brent chose to simply drop off the face of the earth, and not reciprocate anything as it pertains to the program.

    He chose to say F the Polk Forum, or at least the Program, and not really lose sleep over this subject.

    I have since, after the aforementioned phone calls, left him a couple, less than tactful perhaps messages....obviously to no avail.

    WE LOSE in this situation, as it removes a cable, temporarily, from YOUR program as I need to replace it. I have ordered a new cable, and it will be back in progress shortly.

    I view this program VERY seriously, and have way too much time invested in and around our forum, then to have a nonchalant member walk out like it doesn't matter. He obviously doesn't care about us, or our forum.

    I don't care so much about the out-of-pocket expense, that's not the point and expense has never been the point of this program. The point is simple, it's insulting to me that he couldn't just say, "Hey, man F U, I'm not sending the cable back." Instead, he takes advantage of my good nature and I let him ride.....no cable for you.

    The F you to me, implies a big FU to you as well.

    This COULD have been a great venue for this company as I think we reach alot of people, 30K+ members.

    I encourage you to make your own decision as to the outcome and/or circumstances of all this happening. This was my choice to bring this company into the program, and I alone should be held responsible for any and all subsequent issues or developements.

    I guess I never actually touched on the actual outcome of all this hoopla....sorry, I'm baying at the moon right now.

    I am removing the Ethereal Cable demos mainly due to the fact of the gross non-compliance by their agent. The current EC agents do not want to address this issue directly, so until I get a resolve, they will lose what I feel is their priviledge to participate in our program.

    Sorry to hear about the lame inactions of a cable swap participant.

    I still think you do a hell of a job on this program, and a lot of us are in your debt for alowing us to participate and have the chance to see, or hear, as the case may be , what these cables sound like without wasting the cash on something we may not want.
    Seems everybody has been stand up and played by the rules, but every once in a while a **** floats to the top...

    i don't know how this happen but some weird freak of nature occured at my house. and dang it. if the ETHEREAL AUDIO - SPEAKER CABLES didn't end up getting shredded by the lawn mower.

    I tell ya. i was scared to death. Chewed them up to pieces. imagine if you can.. two 6ft long ETHEREAL AUDIO - SPEAKER CABLE munched into 1,00000000000000 tiny pieces. :eek:

    That's too bad about Ethereal. While I didn't get blown away by their interconnects, I liked their speaker cables enough to by a set for my HT rig. I was in the process of demoing the various video cables and found them to be pretty nice. As I said, it is too bad that a particular individual is hurting his company. If he comes around and makes things right I might just purchase some more stuff from them but not until it gets straightend out (like my "huge" purchases would make any difference).

    wow,
    have not been around this forum in a while and was in the market for some new cables and found this program...perfect!

    it would be great if i could get signed up for the SC Analog 2 and the Audioquest Diamondback lists.

    are there some other relativly inexpensive (<$100) that i am missing? dont think my system is gonig to benifit much from the really expensive ones...

    WOW...just got back from Vacation (a week in puerto vallarta), and emediatly went into 16 hr days..

    not tryin to be a flake, so give me some heads up as to were these should go next...

    I don`t want to be holding the project back in any way.

    These cables could stay in the office rig indefinatly if I don`t make a move soon..!!!!
