Actually, I've been a slacker as well, the fedex guy returned the preludes 2 weeks ago for some reason and I have not re-sent them due to severe slackerhood and working 60 hours a week. If it's allright, I'll hold onto them until polkfest. I can do the same with the other cables you have. After polkfest though, I am out of this game

Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

Just to let Skynut (and the rest of you) know that the Nordost-Solar Winds arrived today w/o incident. What a unique looking cable :) . I'll be putting them to task very shortly. Thanks Sky for the quick delivery.

As soon as they show up here I will get them turned around. I will also send you the zebra's and the Outlaw's in the same box. You are going to have alot of cable to compare :)

Just got off the phone with UPS they are saying it might be a while before I get the package back. Looks like it was in N.O. when the hurricane hit. So I will get the Zebra's and the Outlaw's out on Monday.

alrighty. I'm gonna buy some interconnects soon. I'm wondering if I should just buy the signal cable 2's.. my top choice so far....and compare those as well...especially since they have a money back guarentee then I can compare all three risk free.

How long from order does it take to get here if I order it from SC?

I'm also looking at the bluejeans stero interconnect any idea how these exact two compare, or is it even fair to compare the SC analog 2 vs blue jeans b/c the SC's are twice the price? Should I just bump it down to the SC1 or get the blue jeans one?

I've had the Nordost Solar Winds hooked in my sytem for a few days now. I'm just looking for some advice on how to demo these fairly. Right now I have them hooked between my amp and pre-amp. Would it be beneficial is it common here to also hook these between the DAC and cd player and/or DAC and pre-amp. What have you all been doing as far as hook-up goes?

I know the general answer is do what you want and see if you hear a diff. I probably will. I was just wondering what others have done as far as swapping these cables in and out of your gear to get a fair accurate comparo.

hey spawn any info on the first shipment of cables? They go back to you? Terriable mishap of timing =(

Also, You said you were gonna ship out the other cables on monday. I got a mailslip for a package on wed. but they said I didn't have a package and it might have been an error. Just let me know so I can check with the mailroom.

    Thanks,

The first shipment is still in NO as far as I know, I pm'd Dragon to let him know that his cables were probably underwater in NO and I had no idea when they would be getting back to me.

As for the zebra's and the outlaw's I have had them packed and ready to go all week and I have just not sent them yet. I have been terribly pre-ocupied with this interview tommorrow and the prospect of moving. That is no excuse and I realize that. They will go out Monday no mater what.

    Hi H9,

I just bought a pair of Audioquest Sidewinder IC and played with it for a couple days. The IC improves the most when it is used to connect DAC and the preamp rather than preamp and power amp. However, for the benefit of every music sources that are hooked up to the pre, I am keeping it in between pre and power for the time being.

A side note, this $40 IC is made in China!!!!! Maybe I should fire up my China connection to see there are any sold at $4 in the local market .......

Thanks for the info Fredv. I'm using the Nordost Solar Winds and have had them connected between the amp/pre-amp. I will try using between the Dac/Cd player. I'm amazed at the difference in sound....not all good , not all bad, just different. What do you like about the AQ Sidewinder? I think the next cable I audition will be an AQ. If you could get 'em at $4 a the local Chinese market you could sell them $10 here and make all involved happy ;)

Prior to the AQ sidewinder, I used RS Fusion and spidergear (some home made IC that is claimed to be same cable as some 70-80 IC's).
Compare to the RS, the AQ has decisive better mid and high (very crisp and good seapration, the RS is kind of muddy) and tighter bass. However, it is marginally better than spidergear. I was surprised how well the spidergear performs at only 1/7 of the AQ's price!!!!

My company has an engineering center in China. I will ask my collegue there to see they can locate some AQ in the local market. I am pretty sure anything that is made in China can be found locally. It is a matter of whether knowing where to purchase. If I manage to get some, I will put them up to FM at cost.

Packaged looked ok....a lil scrunched but thats UPS not katrina. Had a nice sticker that said delayed due to Hurricane Katrina. All is well. Havne't had time to sit down and listen to them all fully but so far all of them fair pretty nicely. Not sure if these interconnects make too much of a difference in my budget system.Though in comparison to my existing monster interlink 250's they aren't too much better. I was taken back by the length of the zebras! wow...

    Anyway

1 test coming up 3 more to go in the next few days...then i'll test the cables =P

Use the Nordost all the way through on a single channel, and generic RCA's on the other channel. Then compare Left vs. Right.

I've been very busy so please forgive the lack of attention to this thread as it's wuite time consuming.

W Waldecker(William) donated some really cool Groneburg Quattro cables that F1Nut is currently using and conducting a demo upon. Dragon1952, I have you down as the next in line. I will get the review thread posted ASAP. William is a real nice guy and for him to donate some additional high tone stuff is refreshing to my wallet :)

Burnzy(Scott) - I know you need your review thread up for the IC, bear with me, it will be completed this weekend. Thanks for emailing me the cable particulars.

Peersool(Victor) - Yea, you may actually receive these eh? :)

I-SIG - I need an update, drop me a line.

EVERYONE - Please post an update if something is changing hands...thanks much.

Please sign up for the demo's and pay close attention to the ones that are in need of an immediate participant.

This is a free program for you to make your own decision about the value of cables. You should participate because whether it good, bad or ugly...all information is good information. No Gnus is good Gnus....some of you might get that one.

    More later....
