So do they look as good as they sound? I was a little disappointed with the sneak peak pic at the beginning of the thread. The face looks a little like an RTiA speaker. In person do they look better?

Yes, current LSi owners will have to sell. The new line is, ironically enough, also called LSi, but will be entirely different, hence the decision to keep the name.

P.S. Put your gear list in your sig. That's what it's for.

LSi....yes an no, in usual Polk fashion they add something to the nomenclature....did I spell that correctly? As far as I know the LSi series will continue to define the TOTL Polk Audio lineup.

I'm not looking for any perks to come with the new speakers. My first question is whether they are compatible with the current LSi's. Can I replace my current LSiC with the new speaker - will it match enough? If it was, that would be probably the first thing I did.
Front - Polk LSiM 705, Center - Polk LSiM 704c, Rear - Polk LSi 7
    Subwoofer - Epik Legend
Receiver (as Preamp) - Sony STR-DA3400 ES
    Amplifier - Outlaw 7125

Blu Ray - OPPO BDP 83

Don't know at all but IIRC, they're completely new from the ground up. Doubt they'll be timbre-matched to the old LSi lineup.

You folks have had SDA available for the last few years, just not in the format you want. Get over it for now and get your ears on something radical from Polk for a change. xoxo

Based on the pic, it likely won't match finish color/style which is usually the #1 WAF issue most have to address first.

Assuming a full HT lineup, I would venture a guess that they probably would be timber matched at least to the surrounds so somebody could upgrade their L,C & R without having to get new surrounds as well. The RTi and RTiA lines were close in style but still no match (esp the cherry fiish color), but were timber matched.

But who knows--with a new lineup anything is game---I don't expect a new model year car to have the same parts or even drive the same as previous model year cars-I expect better.

Geez... Texas is big enough we need a Houston, Austin, and D/FW demo. So ask nice and I'll be the D/FW demo. Or be rude. Or tell me to shut up and do it. I really don't care. My amps are stable to 2 Ohm. Just thought I'd mention that.

Is it an optical illusion, or does the speaker on the right have the grill hanging on the right side of the speaker? Or is that a grill attached to the side ?? Or have I been staring at this picture too long???

Sell them now...and naturally I'm loosely kidding but make every effort to hear these when they come out.

I believe the sponsor demo program will actually come to fruition as well from the chatter at lunch today. We just have to figure out the best way to do it. What better place to hear a Polk loudspeaker and make a decision then at a Polkies house right? In a room that actually cares about sound? Stay on topic but keep that in your head since KAB mentioned it sometime ago as well.

I couldn't find formal mention in the previous posts in this thread of an announcement date. Is it supposed to be this coming Monday? As you can see, I've got a bit of investment in the "previous" LSi's... they've been good to me.

Then keep them. Just because an update is coming out, doesn't mean it is mandatory to buy the new ones. Especially if they are recent purchases.
