    Hello,
They are passive, no built-in amplifier.
    Regards, Ken
Do you know if there is room to add an amp inside the box?

    Hello,
I don't believe that would be possible, there are too many internal braces in the way. Also, each of the bass drivers has a very specifically tuned enclosure behind it. After hearing the bass definition I heard you wouldn't want to change a thing.
    Cheers, Ken

Not surprised, makes sense. Ideally then dedicating a mono amp for each of the towers should do the trick.

    Cheers!

And the active amp is a big reason I never went for the lsi25, while the sub in the 15, while passive, was too small.

I think the new towers strike the perfect balance, at least on the spec sheets. I very much want to hear them and really hope a dealer in the D/FW area carries them.

One thing about the new LSI's that I like is that they will not be as fussy as to placement as the Lsi 15's. You really need room on the sides for the Lsi 15's because of the woofers pointing out.
Front - Polk LSiM 705, Center - Polk LSiM 704c, Rear - Polk LSi 7
    Subwoofer - Epik Legend
Receiver (as Preamp) - Sony STR-DA3400 ES
    Amplifier - Outlaw 7125
    Television - 58" Samsung Plasma PN58B860
Blu Ray - OPPO BDP 83

That is a very good point I'd say!

I took the liberty to combine these into a single PDF-If you scan the cover I'll add that in too.

    Nice work and nice read.

Shows some of the engineering that went behind the new LSi line. That is the type of thing that would be nice if included in some form (DVD/hard copy ?) with each purchase, along with some of the other literature that others have mentioned.
Reminded me of Back-In-The-Day of sitting and listening to Alan Parsons Project "I Robot" on ESS AMT-1b's while reading ESS's sales brochures/manual/literature/magazine reviews. Didn't necessarily make the tunes any better but .... it was just right. And enjoyable. And .... just right.

Sitting and listening to a new set of LSi's while reading through "The History of Polk" ( or some such offering ) and flipping to the back page and seeing something along the lines of "We at Polk Audio hope you've enjoyed reading <fill-in-the-blank> and would like to remind you of our committment to your listening enjoyment ...... ,etc" and have it signed by Matthew Polk would be ......... well ..... awesome.
Again: won't necessarily make the tunes any better but ....... sounds kind of right to me.
This won't work, of course, if LSi production levels are set for 500,000 sets a year, although ...... okay, it won't work then. :o But it would at lower levels and .... just seems right. Matthew Polk can't be expected to be locked into a room 16 hours a day signing installation manuals for R15's but ..... the new LSi series ? If do-able, ..... do it. Just because he's Ambassador-At-Large doesn't mean he can't pick up a pen and write sometimes. :o

That's the only schwag that should be included. Pack these things to survive a nuclear blast, and you're good to go.

Protective 'armor' such as acrylic to protect the wood finish..clear armor so the original surface shows through.

Both side firing woofers and direct firing woofers has it's own advantage and disadvantages, I'd say. If the room permits, the side firing woofers offer smoother bass with less audible distortions and not too over whelming bass.

On the other hands, front firing woofers aiming at you makes the presence of strong bass more prominent if you are a bass lover. Distortion can be reduced if the woofer is done right too.

Speculation....speculation....specualtions.....I so want to hear the tower LSiM.!
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

These new LSi's need to hurry up and come out already!!

There's no way I'll be able to afford them myself anytime soon, but I'll be ready to snag up some of your guys old LSi's when you upgrade to the new ones!

These new LSi's are really looking promising though. Some damn good looking speakers, and if the reviews thus far are any indication...they should sound even better than they look. I'm really looking forward to getting my ears on some.
