Looking forward to listening to the new Lsi's when they finally make it to the stores..and at that price, that is as close as I will get! lol
Judging by the press release, it seems as though Polk has gone to great lengths to deliver a speaker to the market that will be taken seriously by those that consider themselves "High End Audiophiles" even though it carries a Polk nameplate. So now I have a dilema; If I were to sell my Lsi 15's, 9's, LsiC and Fx's, should I get the LEFT or RIGHT LsiM 707?!?!?!?! :p Hey, its nice to dream!!! Congrats Polk! :)

Very exciting news and cool looking units.

One thing thou I don't visually like is the giant Polk emblem, the new design is sharp but way too large. Quality equipment needs not shove itself down the proverbial throat of the listener through advertisement...it's the sound!
    Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,
Dynaudio Contour 3.3, Dynaudio Contour T2.1, Polk OWM3, Polk DSW micropro 1000 (x2),
Pioneer Kuro 50" Plasma, Phillips Pronto Control w/Niles HT-MSU.

I'm diggin' the look. It looks like magnetic grills too which is very nice to have and keep the look clean.

and I know this is just a picture, but the cherry looks lighter in color than the RTiA series to me. Also wondering what the sub that they have with these will look like.

    Very nice!

So, looking at the timeline, if January 2011 CES will be the official launch, are we looking at March 2011 before they will show up in the dealers' showroom?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Since I am relatively new to this board I have some questions.Does Mark work for Polk?? I would think someone at Polk would have sent more pic's to satisfy our curiosity.I know the release date is still down the road but....Any help on this ......Eddie

Wow are these guys listening to us or what?
Finishing touches include magnetic, non-diffracting grills, easy-leveling floor spikes and rubber trims around the driver baskets that create a cosmetically clean fit and finish.

While logo is large, it appears that it's more than a self adhesive sticker. I hope it's metal. Any other pictures available? I really want to see the larger center channel. I wonder if these would be timbre matched to current LSi in any way.

Wonder what M in LSi M stand for though...

+ 1 for more drivers in the center channel.I assume that would be the case as other mid and hi-fi guys have figured that out....Eddie Yes,I had the cs350 with multiple drivers.i was talking about a much more refined version

    Both Mark's work for Polk

Mark Susskind mentioned in the article is the PR guy, IIRC. Doro (Mark) is also an employee, only in a completely different capacity.

"The larger LSiM 706c features the same AIR ring tweeter and E:M 3.5" mid-bass driver that characterizes the Dynamic Sonic Engine of the larger tower models, flanked by two ELM 6.5" mid-bass drivers with a rear port design."

Sounds like a similar design as the paradigm studio/signature center channels:

$4K will be MSRP, no? Street price (i.e. Crutchfield, not gray market) will be a bit less.

Excitement level here (which I share) reminds me of glory days of Emotiva forum. :)

Crutchfield and Audio Advisor do not discount. They sell list price, but you get good service if there is an issue.

The logo is metal as far as I know.

Stu Lumsden(VP Engineering) said the "M" stands for "Mo' Betta".

Wow, dude, you should warn first. I though this monstrocity was new Polk center! Had to google it to find this was paradigm - not enough mounting bolts :) Seriously, why do Paradigm enjoy such a following, when I hear their reference series it sounded way too bright for my taste. At least with Klipsch horns you get this special clarity and crispiness to the sound to go with that forward sound.

Obvously not being able to know what they sound like is frustrating but aesthically that is a dramatic improvement over the "box".Great work and hats off for taking feedback from the users.Viva La Polk Audio.....

I am just taking a SWAG here, but designation of "M" isn't it for "Modified"?

Nice shot of the large tower:
    attachment.php?attachmentid=51244&d=1281973553

And I like the large center too! Wonder if it will come in cherry or only in piano black.
Also Polk should consider adding a Rosewood/Rosemah finish to the new LSi pallet.

dorokusai, do you know how we can get a hard copy of this press release? It was a nostalgia touch to include Mathew picture in the laser lab. I think Polk used that picture for the first RTi series back in last century! :)

You guys need to read that press release, it contains detailed look into the contraction of the speaker. LSi will have real cones/spikes now that are adjustable from the top via a hex wrench. Cabinet is also improved with no parallel surfaces - the cabinet sides are tapered towards the back. I just can't wait to hear them. Any chance for a demo in the Dallas area?

Mark, how about a new thread with all the press releases? Just a thought, since we're, what 16 pages in on this one....
