Re: Questions on SDA SRS 2 Pin/Blade - crossovers, polyswitch and tweeter upgrades, mono blocks
Thanks @pitdogg2
I'm confused that some vendors call them SL2000:
(and are those the ones to get?)
https://www.midwestspeakerrepair.com/product/polk-audio-sl2000-1-inch-dome-tweeter/
Yes. The reason they used the SL2000 for the 94 and SL2500/3000 for the 98 is to help consumers understand which model is the proper replacement for the older tweeters.
I would call Polk customer service and buy them. Mention you're a member here on the forum and you will get a small discount on the tweeters.

Re: R2R dac vs. Delta Sigma type dac
I always used 6922 or 7308, it’s been awhile but iirc there were some specific 7308’s that I really liked. They were pricier of course. If you wish I’ll go look at my stash and let you know. Same with 6922’s. I have some of those 6DJ8 A-frames but I don’t remember much about them but my recollection is the specific 6922 and 7308’s I have were far superior

Well they will get better after about 100 hours. The SL2000 will never sound better no matter what caps you use, get the RD-0194's, money well spent.

Re: Bi Amping with a AVR
WOW this thread took a cool turn. After I lost all credibility with F1, you guys ran with some vintage stuff.
My Grand Father had a TV repair shop in his house. He built the shop onto the back of the garage. This one of my starts in this hobby. I use to love going in there and watch him take apart TV's and get them back up and running. This was back in the 1970's. We always had the latest and greatest in TV's back then. My family also shopped at Bryn Mawr Stereo and video with the likes of Polk Audio and Yamaha receivers. It's one of the moments in time that brought me on this forum back in the 1990's when it was just getting started.

Wasn’t until the late 90’s that we could afford a small color tv.
