Re: SDA SRS 1.2TL - single or bi-amplify???
There's a lot of misinformation about bi-amping in general. The only true bi-amping requires active crossovers. Anything else is wishful thinking.

Re: What's your limit on Speakers?
I buy most every piece of gear used. This has worked very well for my needs. I probably have one more pair of speakers left in me. I would guess $3k-$3.5k will probably be that ceiling. At that point I would probably sell at least one pair of speakers.
I have to get better at moving things.
Yah,me too! I have enough gear and speakers to set up another four systems. In my defense,I do rotate a lot in my secondary system.
Yeah I use that defense as well. My wife is like Just sell all this madness as it's all going to just sit in the basement. She has a pretty good point, if you saw my stock pile of stuff, you might think you're pretty normal in this hobby, and I got rid of a lot of stuff. Honestly I wanted to build a Museum to showcase over the decades of 2 channel and home theater.
As soon as you use the word MUSEUM……………

Re: SDA SRS 1.2TL - single or bi-amplify???
I had that same Adcom amp powering a pair of 2.3TLs for almost 20 years. At the time, it sounded like heaven. These days, that amp would be in desperate need of upgrading and quite honestly, there are better options out there.
And people with way more experience than me (like F1nut above) will tell you that the so-called "bi-amping" either horizontally or vertically (that Polk touted in the respective owner's manuals) as well as trying to use a GFA-555ii in "bridged mono" mode are bad ideas.
As far as buying a pair of TLs and learning all of the long list of improvements that can (and should) be done to them: You came to the right place.
Thank you for your input! So, you're saying that I should just stick with one amp to power both speakers, and forget about bi-amping?

Re: R2R dac vs. Delta Sigma type dac
I think DAC design is no different than amp design or preamp design or speaker design. They all can be either warm or analytical and infinitely varied between. And we all know everyone's perception of what's good is different. You can't base a product on someone else's opinion. Only your own. My tastes, for example, are on the warm side but too much warm can be too drab with some music so I like to throw in something bright on occasion to mix it up. I think that's why I like the Gustard X26 Pro's DS DAC because it livens up certain tracts of music, especially older recordings. It can also be switched for more or less treble if the need arises.

Without active crossovers you are not bi-amping.
Even if someone did actively bi-amp the sda, I would think that would defeat the purpose of the sda circuit.

There's also a 100% chance the climate will change every day, so yes folks climate change is real. 😂🤡👽🥸
Wouldn't we all love to have jobs where we could say something and be completely wrong over and over again and still get paid and still be employed.

Re: System Showcase
I don't think it has been around since 2014 or earlier...pre-Vanilla, that's for sure.

Re: R2R dac vs. Delta Sigma type dac
Not one to argue either. It is clear that Tom and Trey really love their Ank tube DAC models. It is possible there is more going on with those Anks than just the R2R to make such a huge difference. I did not hear a life-changing difference and I had my new R2R and the old DS wired in the same system and was playing back to back with the same material.
