OK, not gonna give @KennethSwauger any artistic composition
but it's one of those Chamber of Commerce weather kind of days in northern New England today, so on my perambulation with Mrs. H this morning (2-mile round trip down to the main road and our newspaper box 
) I dragged along my camera & snapped a few piccies.

Thank you -- but do note that's our neighborhood (none of those photos is our property ). We abut the farm & its land shown in the last two photos, and the first photo is across the street from our property.
Nothin' fancy; the body's is a D5600. Professor Hardy decided that dad needed/deserved a more modern DX-format body It certainly does have better low-light performance than the ol' D5000 did.

Alrighty. My brother just dropped off the new to me Caddy. Now we have to wait. Our DMV’s are still closed here in NY. We will have to mail in all the paperwork,and there’s no telling how long that will take. But,at least I can go out to the driveway and sit in it! Just to quell any questions about Caddy making a stick,here’s a couple of crappy cell phone picks.

I parked nose to nose (I got out and checked) with a smart car and it only comes up to the middle of my doors. 😂 Keep in mind this is a small early 90s Civic hatchback that would likewise only come up to the middle of your truck door (edit: that might be a bit of an exaggeration, I got a pair of 2Bs behind the front seats just fine) and not a comparatively large modern Civic.

The biggest "problem" with the Smarts is that they're not particularly economical. They are particularly small, so I guess if one lives in the city and has a car and parks on the street, that might be an advantage (but, in the US at least, that's a pretty small market).
I remember back in my commuting days seeing them on I-495 tooling along at 70 mph or more. I was terrified on behalf of their drivers -- I wonder how they felt in 'em at speed?

I'm sure they were a lot safer at speed than a motorcycle.
Safety was their only real asset. A Corolla was a much better
car for the mpg and practical minded. There's a junkyard I
drive by sometimes that has a whole section dedicated to these cars.

1) That is true (re: safety), now that you mention it (I had conveniently forgotten that!) -- but the wheelbase is so short, and they seem so (comparatively) tall and narrow. I have to imagine (??) they're a bit skittish at speed (or in a crosswind).
2) I am trying to understand why any junkyard could have acquired a whole section's worth" of them
