Playing with the rig destined for the garage. Swapped out the generic RCA cables from the pre to the amp with a set of MIT T2’s I had laying around!

You ain't kidding! I was going through a box of cables, desperately searching for the XLR's that @Clipdat had loaned me, found em, but what else did I find? A set of AQ Red River XLR's that I got from @joecoulson a while ago! I pulled them out of storage, ready to rotate them in!

    Having fun!

The good: I put my Yamaha K-902 in the bedroom system today and it sounds great! 😀

The bad: I did the above, because my Yamaha KX-530 seems to have gone to cassette deck heaven, judging by failed electronic response and the subsequently smoky scent that follows it. This means no more remote control and track-to-track search convenience. 😢

...and sometimes a guy gets lucky! Popped the top of the KX-530, and it looks like just a blown fuse.

For those who are fans of guts and explosions (exceedingly small 😁) here are some pics:

Oh, I listened to that album a LOT when I was first driving. I might actually put that in today for a spin. Great memories associated with that one......now I got a hankerin' to hear "Don't close your eyes".

Since we cut the cord with DirecTV, I have a space in my main system rack. Thinking about dusting off my C.E.C. CD-3300 transport and putting back in the system---just because. That thing sounds fantastic via AES/EBU out to the BM DAC.

Just a bit, lol...but I have a room off to the side where I keep speakers, etc that I rotate from time to time.

  • Put Dynamat Xtreme on my left speaker stand column. Then I was like....wow.....sounds terrrible..........completely flat.......the bass is sounding funny. Turned out the subwoofer must've blown an output transistor on power up or something LOL

Very nice! I need to look into one for my Thorens. I hope I saved the hinge pins. I’ve been without the original cover for some time and just use a sacrificial lp to keep dust off the platter mat.
