Changed out the tonearm wire and RCA cables in my 1200 Mk5 to the Cardas from KAB. I really wish there was another inch to work with but just had to go slow. Not a huge deal as dealing with these tiny wires requires slow going anyway.
The RCA's were already attached to the board, but had to add the tonearm wires.
Not much room to work with but manageable.
I used this #1 phillips bit and was large enough to use fingers to remove the screws from headshell mount as I left the tonearm installed.

Well, that's going to be part 2 of this endeavor. Once finished I leveled the table and went for a test run. I immediately heard a lot of distortion and shut it down. I double-checked the stylus and found that my DL301 Mk2 had the tip torn off.
Wasn't like this when I played it last. Cover was down, tonearm locked, but many months of foot traffic from kids so there's no way for me to say who may have done it. Mine know not to use it, but with all the friends that have been inside, anything is possible.
I know for a fact it has sat for about 8 months, unused, and when I pulled the headshell to work on it, it was placed in a secure location. My guess it was tried to have been played and the stylus landed on the timing blocks on the platter...but who knows....cannot accuse anyone.
Now I'm looking for an upgrade, been eyeballing the Audio Technica AT33SA or another Denon...the AT is pricey.

I remounted my Denon DL-103R yesterday. A great sounding cartridge for the price IMHO.

Mike, I did build another one before this one to use with the original VTF-3 for a pair of them in the basement garage/shop where I do the work. The problem is, Parts Express sold out of the HSU amps and speaker. They were a factory buyout, limited quantity sale.

Building the cat proof SDA SRS exoskeleton enclosure covers inspired me to build a new subwoofer. I used the HSU Research VTF-3 250W plate amp and their 12" driver purchased from Parts Express and cloned the cabinet out of the same materials and to the same quality and dimensions as the original VTF-3 that I own. I maintained the Polk SRS styling queues in the home made "Polk Sub". It sounds EXACTLY like the VTF-3. Sorry, I don't now why the pics don't post in the order I loaded them.

Thanks for all the good comments on the speaker and the cars. The Cobra is a replica car I built at home over three years. The starting point was the Factory Five Racing Cobra Mk3 kit. It has a Ford Racing 340HP Crate carbureted 302 engine and a Tremmic T5-speed. It has AC/heat, power steering, power brakes/ABS, 4 wheel discs, Koni adjustable coil over's, 8.8" 3.55 rear end. I did everything myself including paint and body. It's Lexus indigo ink pearl with Viper silver stripes, base coat clear coat urethane. It's been on the road since 2007.
The car on the right is the other car, an unrestored, survivor, original 1972 Triumph TR6 that I've had for 9 years.
