What's most interesting to me is that Bob Carver somehow developed a relatively high output tube power amp that doesn't burn its power tubes up. That's wizardry!1. Bob did some calculations and he figures that the KT120s operating in the Crimson 275 using his DC restorer circuit should last in excess of 40 years.Rogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's

Also, I am curious as to whether anyone else here ended up buying one of these amps when they were on sale late last year. If so, what are folks thinking of it/them?

These are fantastic Amplifiers. I've heard it several different times with various preamps and speakers and have always found them to sound really nice. I will have one myself within the next month. The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits. -Albert Einstein

cool, keep us posted on your experience with one in house.
I am still kind of intrigued by these -- although not intrigued enough to invest in one*.

* mostly because, if I did, the first thing I'd do is open it up and (try to) trace out the circuitry -- so I wouldn't be able to return it as "new" if I didn't like it!

Just found out that Jim at Jim Clark Stereo has a trade in unit available for $1950. He offers a full value trade in, trade-up for people who purchase the 275 if they decide to upgrade to the big 350 monoblocks. This unit is still under warranty and in perfect condition. It would be a great opportunity for someone interested in buying one of these amps. The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits. -Albert Einstein

Yeah, that was the retail. I asked about this amp awhile back, seemed like it was all that when it came out and then crickets. You still using yours ? Any updates on the sound, any problems, tubes being used ? I really dig the looks of this amp.
At 75 watts a side, what speakers are you using and do you feel this amp has enough balls for 4ohm floorstanders to be driven at decent volumes ?HT SYSTEM-
