As you may know, there are two color systems - additive and subtractive.
In additive color (light), the three primary colors are red, green, and blue. All of the colors together sum to white.
In subtractive color (paint), the three primary colors are yellow, cyan and magenta. All of the colors together sum to poo brown.

Unless it was certain shades of yellow, deep red or orange? I could do it in one coat, no bleed through or drips spraying with a 413 tip.

On a more serious note, I HAVE had trouble finding a high quality, low reflectivity black paint. Been looking for a solution for my dash on my car. -

Doesn't help with the reflection on the clear gauge cluster cover. At high solar angles, the reflection from the base of the cluster hood (which is black) actually whites out the view of the gauges. -
