Does black paint really help for "wood"? Do you spray it on or use a brush? Will it make my "wood" bigger?

Deleted to avoid the ban involved. o:)

You know, I just came to the realization that I am going to have to source some black paint to make this 2" throat Emilar horn look purty.

Unless it was certain shades of yellow, deep red or orange? I could do it in one coat, no bleed through or drips spraying with a 413 tip.

Yes, I am a professional. Please do not attempt to try this at home.

@pitdogg2 can be thanked for reviving this thread (yet again)

Thought I blame myself for being curious...

On a more serious note, I HAVE had trouble finding a high quality, low reflectivity black paint. Been looking for a solution for my dash on my car.

Doesn't help with the reflection on the clear gauge cluster cover. At high solar angles, the reflection from the base of the cluster hood (which is black) actually whites out the view of the gauges.

Try "House Of Color". Best auto quality paint on the planet. They also have all the different colors and grades of the metal flakes to make it def. Expensive. $60 a quart and you need a good sprayer or pay a shop[to do it right. Check out ''Candy Brandywine over Gold Metalflake" Remember, If you go to Wallymart and buy cheap paint. It's always gonna look like cheap paint. No matter what you do.
If it looks like a duck? Quacks like a duck? It's prolly a *#!^%$ Duck!!

What kind of duck though ? It makes a difference.
Someone may want to have their paint job feathered in which case I'd recommend a goose (or geese for bigger jobs).
