    Emotiva amps are already black.

Deep, deep insight into the issue from this man. I stand in awe.

    :)
  • As time has passed, perhaps it should be noted that orange is the new black.

And Emotive amps are black not because they lack color, but because they are inclusive of all colors.

As you may know, there are two color systems - additive and subtractive.
In additive color (light), the three primary colors are red, green, and blue. All of the colors together sum to white.
In subtractive color (paint), the three primary colors are yellow, cyan and magenta. All of the colors together sum to poo brown.

Does black paint really help for "wood"? Do you spray it on or use a brush? Will it make my "wood" bigger?

Deleted to avoid the ban involved. o:)

You know, I just came to the realization that I am going to have to source some black paint to make this 2" throat Emilar horn look purty.

Unless it was certain shades of yellow, deep red or orange? I could do it in one coat, no bleed through or drips spraying with a 413 tip.

Yes, I am a professional. Please do not attempt to try this at home.

@pitdogg2 can be thanked for reviving this thread (yet again)

Thought I blame myself for being curious...

On a more serious note, I HAVE had trouble finding a high quality, low reflectivity black paint. Been looking for a solution for my dash on my car.

Doesn't help with the reflection on the clear gauge cluster cover. At high solar angles, the reflection from the base of the cluster hood (which is black) actually whites out the view of the gauges.
