I would really like to have the veneer re-done on the cabinets while i have them apart, I just don't know where to go to have it done..

I had my CRS+ cabinets re-veneered as a local custom cabinet shop.

I have wondered the same thing, but I do see where it makes sense in doing so, but at the same time, most all amps, pre amps, CD players, blue ray players etc. have steel housings..

You find aluminum chassis as you go up in quality and cost. Higher quality, lower noise electronic circuits are more sensitive to environmental electrical noise, and aluminum is a better shield against such noise, plus, aluminum does not magnetically interact with inductors.

  • Larry,
I need a smaller TEC Infrared Gas Grill.

Could it be used as one?

A little overkill? Maybe, but I have it, so why not.. B)7mb1euax00dg.jpeg

Thanks, it's a plus when I have the time in the shop, and a few of my good guys to help me out, and make it happen while I take care of other things as well..

  • Very impressive components and metal work. What improvements do you expect in the sound of the CRS+ without the components inside? I realize you will gain some volume inside the cabinet without the crossovers mounted in there but I thought the passive radiator was turned to the volume of the cabinet. Have you taken that into consideration?

  • Thanks, not sure what improvements there will be if any, will just have to wait and see, as far as the internal volume, I'm not messing with that, and if Matt took into consideration the space the crossover would take, than many of us have screwed that up with bigger caps and solen inductors..

Honestly I don't see taking them out jacking with the tuning of the speakers or the PR's..

Time will tell, but I think I'm in for a treat, and the best thing is my buddy Brian has a stock set, and we will be doing an A/B shoot out.. B)
