I should be getting the rest of my ICs back in the next couple days, and depending on how everything sounds, i may be thinking of going with some higher end speaker cables, and i'd be looking to pass mine along.
If I find something at the right price, I can buy right now. Thanks for looking; I will also. If you do decide to upgrade the cables and want to help a fellow Polkie out, that would be appreciated; just let me know!- Jeremy

Ehhh... they aren't around anymore at that price. They're back up around $100 give or take $10.

If i find something i want to try, they're yours for $40 shipped.
Those Daytons look like they'd at least be worth the $50, though, unless someone else here can offer you something better used. I doubt you'll be disappointed for your money.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

That's very generous of you; I will definitely consider this if you do decide to sell them. Get back to me when you decide either way.
Still want to know if anyone has any experience with the Dayton cable though. $32.77 for a pair of banana terminated cables is something I would be willing to try if they're not garbage.- Jeremy

Oh wait... they're $32.77 now? Just get them dude unless you can afford to grab something significantly higher like some AQ Type 4 or something.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Yeah, that plus about $5 for shipping. Thing is, if the AR cables you have are better cables, I'd rather wait and see if you decide to keep them or not as opposed to settling for the Daytons, hence why I was hoping someone here had experience with them. If you say the AR's are good cables, I'll take your word for it.- Jeremy

Random, but I figured this simple question wasn't worth starting a whole new thread..anyone have experience with Dayton speaker wire? I came across this, and considering its sold by parts express, I figured some people on here might have experience with it. Anyone used Dayton cable before?

There is a thread on Dayton cable somewhere here. Try searching it. -

As far as the paint goes, how close is it to the color in crayola box? Last i checked home depot can match it if you take the crayon to them. Just make certain you don't eat the crayon on the way there as it will spoil your dinner.

Cables are nonsese...In fact, I don't use ant at all! I just have my stuff stacked neatly and plugged in. Then just imagine what I want to hear when I play a song. That way I alleviate my fear of maybe hearing a difference(or not). 'Cause if I don't hear one, I'll get picked on by the bullies and my bushes will die and fire will shoot out of my ears and I'll pee on and stain my Astro turf indoor rugs and have to get vinyl slip covers for my couch which my nekkid butt cheeks stick to in the summertime because I spent all my money on air conditioning and Saltine crackers and sardines. No cables here, friends! Nosirree!!! The elves play happy music through my cable-less upside down CDP! Which only me and my neighbors gold fish can hear at precisely 2:34 AM.
Where's my boat oar!!??? The Klingons are hear demanding pocket lint!
They covet my pocket lint! **** and cockroaches live in my sock drawer singing with the elves in three part harmony tube amp pickle juice..

Though I only have entry level gear and entry level wires (acoustic research 10 gauge with bananas) I feel that they still give me a more solid connection to both the avr and speakers. I honestly don't know if they make a difference other than the mental thoughts that it does. Someday when I'm not fresh out of school and working for jack crap I will get better stuff and better cables... until then, I have no idea.

I may have to question my 'own' sanity for this...but I'm with Russ on this one! So where are the chickens? They don't seem to feed them in China...such scrawny little creatures.

Seriously? Are you refering to BOBT???

Not to call your baby ugly, but AR cables suck real bad. You would be better off going the the auto section of Wal Cheese and getting the 14ga speaker wire there. I know I have had them.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I respect your opinion because I assume you have a lot nicer stuff than I. However, I disagree that the walmart auto cables would be better. I mean... being an **** and assuming that the mumbo jumbo of "oxygen free" and "twisted copper" mean anything, I don't know how these cables could be worse. With a more firm connection and being sealed away from the elements I can't imagine they are doing more harm than good compared to my self terminated 12 awg wire from lowes. For 3 25 foot cables that I paid under 50 bucks for on ebay I don't think I've done too badly for myself.
Oh, and I'm sure when I have a baby... it will be ugly... Seinfeld baby ugly

Grimmace, did you get the AR Master Series cables or whatever with the flex tips? I'm using a 10g set of those, and i'm pretty happy with them for the time being, and i know a few others on here are too.
I'm sure i'll upgrade at some point in the next or so, but i'm definitely not disappointed by them.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Yeah, they are the master series... and a correction to the previous post.. they are 15 feet.

This thread is great! It's like a infectious disease that is endemic to a community (Club Polk). It flares up from time to time and then dies down, but never completely dies out! Then out of the blue, a random event brings it back out into the open ... like a query where Burnt Umber flat paint can be found!

So, how may blind tests have been conducted?Michael
