    I multi-task. I'm at my friends place listening to his Maggi 3.6s fed by two XPA-1s and bashing Emotiva. These amps really make his speakers sing. But, I still hate Emoettes. My friend Matt is in agreement too. Emo fanboys give the company a bad name.

    I think maybe you misunderstood my comment about the Krells. It sounded like you may have been without power, and could not understand going without any sound while you were deciding what to move on to.

    I am not one to deprive myself of music when buying other gear. I also have a lot to think about and do my research on before I acutally will consider buying anything. To me I want to make an educated decision about something and give it time and thought and not be quick to make a hasty decision. Plus there is a member I want to have listen to the XPA-1s in his set up before I sell them as he wants to formulate an opinion of them himself. In the mean time they'll be here until I can finally make up my mind, which with the way I'm going won't happen for awhile.

    ......... which isn't really that bad of a punishment, come to think of it. All you have to do is just keep walking in one direction, and you're guaranteed to eventually come out of the corn. Hmmmm ..... going to have to come up with a better punishment ......

    In my perusals of the forum I have never seen posts (they could very well be out there, just saying I haven't seen it) from an Emotiva owner telling some one to throw out their gear.

    I kind of see the point with the older Carver stuff... The Sunfire lineup is nice and the only thing that he has done that I would want to own.

    With my setup I would be curious to see if there is a difference in a blind A/B between say the Emotiave UPA-2 and my Parasound HCA 1000A.

    Some took offence that Emotiva used the word "Reference" in their advertising literature and then did a Monty Python type ridicule take on that. Fine, if that's what you like.

    Then how come Signal Cable uses Reference in their advertising of their cables and they some how escape mass ridicule. I still haven't seen anyone posture an explanation (scientific) of what 'reference' is when it comes to audio equipment.

    You obviously do not know a thing about Carver gear then. I could take an M1.5t, an M500, M4.0t and any of the TFM45 and up, all of which will bury an EMO in head to head comparisons. The Sllver7t and Silver9t monoblocks are still very well regarded, and lets not even discuss the Silver Seven Monoblock Tube Amps, which are among the rarest and most coveted amps on the planet.

    Learn your gear before you try telling people to throw it out.

    Probably because they don't stuff it down our throats like Emotiva does. For pete's sake, one of their amplifiers has "Reference" engraved IN IT.

    I have a question about the Protection LED on my new SWA500 amp. I just connected everything yesterday. I have it configured with the preout sub from the receiver and then speaker wire from the amp to my CSW155. The amp turns on when it receives a signal and nothing comes out of the sub and then the Protection LED lights up. I do not understand what is wrong and the manual has nothing for a troubleshooting page. Can someone help?

    I owned the M400. Yech... I just demo'd last week (guy was asking $200) a M-1.5t. meh.

    Sorry, the M400 turned me off. The Silver 7 looks great. Never heard it. I have heard the the TFM series (35/45) they were ok...

    The Silver line up was always out of my price range.

    "Meh." That's about how i felt about the XPA-2 that came through here. For my budget, an $800 amp better leave me gasping, sweating, and drained of all seminal fluids.

    I should have said the those old Stereo cubes.... They weighed like 8 pounds and claimed 200watts a channel. Reminded me of car stereo amps stuffed in a black cube. NeXT computer anyone?
