I have a question about the Protection LED on my new SWA500 amp. I just connected everything yesterday. I have it configured with the preout sub from the receiver and then speaker wire from the amp to my CSW155. The amp turns on when it receives a signal and nothing comes out of the sub and then the Protection LED lights up. I do not understand what is wrong and the manual has nothing for a troubleshooting page. Can someone help?

Sure. Make a new thread, though. ;) This is an Emotiva **** fight, we don't REALLY want any good information in it.

Where did I tell people to throw it out. If you like your gear that is great.

You said you saw the point of the people who said to throw out the old carver amps. Whether you personally said it or not, it at least shows that you agree with them on some level. I arrived at this using rudimentary English language skills.

I should have said the those old Stereo cubes.... They weighed like 8 pounds and claimed 200watts a channel. Reminded me of car stereo amps stuffed in a black cube. NeXT computer anyone?

Sorry, didn't mean to bash all the Carver stuff with that.

You obviously do not know a thing about Carver gear then. I could take an M1.5t, an M500, M4.0t and any of the TFM45 and up, all of which will bury an EMO in head to head comparisons.

I'll have to whole heartedly disagree with you on some of that...but hey..its all good.

Then how come Signal Cable uses Reference in their advertising of their cables and they some how escape mass ridicule. I still haven't seen anyone posture an explanation (scientific) of what 'reference' is when it comes to audio equipment.
Probably because they don't stuff it down our throats like Emotiva does. For pete's sake, one of their amplifiers has "Reference" engraved IN IT.

I don't understand why this keeps coming up. I thought it has been established that "reference" means so many different things to different people that it is now nothing more than a worthless marketing tool.

    XRt12 Reference Tuner
    SDA Signature Reference Series center
    SRS(Signature Reference Series 1.2TL/2.3TL/3.1TL
Not that these were not, and still are great products, but were/are they reference?

I'm all for keeping the talk of Emo in perspective as being good for the $$ but no giant killer. But I don't think using the word "reference" means anything one way or another, to be of any value in the discussion (use this term loosely since it is more of a pi$$ing match) but some may still be trying to gain knowledge from it.

You don't even know what you are talking about. You insult someone then don't even know it so how the hell are you going to make a statement like "it doesn't exist," and have people take you seriously? You're a prime example of what we are talking about here about Emoettes.

Ugh!!....I just responded with 3 paragraphs and it made me log in again...my write up no where to be found....

    Summary....

I auditioned Carver 500M, Rotel RB-990BX, and XPA-2 over summer 2009. None of the amps "buried" the other one. Carver did sound a little different...not bad, not good..just different IMO. I kept the XPA-2, sold the Carver, still have the Rotel I'd like to unload.

With the handful of amps I've auditioned over the years I have yet to hear to amps with similiar specs "blow away" any other. IMO..as long as they have similiar specs and are functioning properly the differences are usually subtle at best.

I've had similar problem recently. I wasn't forced to log in again. I had responded to two diifferent posts quoting both then nada, they both weren't displayed. Don't know if something is up or if maybe after proofreading I just didn't hit the <Post Reply> button. Either way it was a wasted effort.

You sick piece of **** how dare you insinute that I smoke crack then follow it up with a statement saying you know it for a fact.

As I said before you insult people and don't even know you are doing it as well as make statements about products that you don't remember or rather think is normal. THAT is truely PATHETIC!!! You need psychiatric help to get you out of your psychosis.

Again you've done nothing, especialy after being warmly welcomed to the is club, but make disrepectful remarks, troll, and cause strife here. I'm sure your sick mind has you proud of yourself.

Did you use the "Go Advanced" then "Manage Attachment?" Don't forget to hit the "Upload" button or else it won't post the attachment.
