A troll is a troll..............there is no "degree". You either are a troll or aren't a troll. He's always in these types of threads and his sole purpose is to stir the pot. He has no intention of ever participating in any kind of comparison whether it's free or by invitation of other Polk members. He and the others are here to see how much controversy their convoluted rantings can cause.

Frankly I grow weary of it and I have better things to do, like listen to tunes.

I will 100% take up an offer from MIT cables to see what they do in my sound system.

I will start working on a 2.0 system in the next 3-4 months for the living room. I haven't decided as yet on the speakers I will build:

Zaph ZRT 2.5's or a high end
    Curt's Mini-statements for the mid
Zaph ZA5.3t or Modula MTM or Natalie P's for the low end. I could do the Mini's and the the low end for the price of the ZRT's...

See the thing is I don't confuse $$ spent with performance gained.

Where is the post about trying drugs to trying different audio components. WTF?

    Sorry, that wasn't you juju...it was 79Pinto.

Comparing MIT to Bose? Ok, I'll agree with you that some of their products are grossly overpriced. People can argue that point all they want, but a $45,000 audio interconnect is grossly overpriced...point made...no argument.

Regardless...MIT and Bose? You can open any magazine in the world, and you'll see an ad for Bose. Commercials on TV, sidebars on web pages, ads on the radio, plastered all over stores, and written in the sky. You get the word Bose drilled into your head, which is why they do so well. Everyone associates their name with Hi-Fi, because that's what they're told every single day.

Where are all of these MIT adds, that make you relate them so closely to Bose? I don't recall ever seeing an MIT ad ANYWHERE.

Sorry juju-That was also directed at 79Pinto.

Don't know if this was already posted, but I can think of three valid reason why MIT wouldn't want to loan the cables to people with less than very expensive systems:

    1. The person with an under 10k system is unlikely to actually buy a cable that costs more than their entire system.

    2. MIT may feel that only a very high end system is transparent enough to reveal all the sophisticated nuances provided by these expensive cables. A lesser system might not be revealing enough to allow a listener to appreciate these cables.

    3. MIT may feel that a person with a very expensive high end system is much more likely to favorably review the cables. Reputation and word of mouth is very important to cable companies. A person that owns 50k in 2 channel equipment is obviously someone that is past debating whether high end equipment is snake oil. So they are less likely to be harboring cable debunking motives.

No cables mentioned in your list of gear that I quoted. Reading comprehension, that sort of thing.

Dolt eh? You'd never say that to my face, why do you think it's ok to say here, troll.

Well, someone asked about my cabling and I posted it. You are one to talk about reading comprehension.

Oh, I think it's okay because it's allowed here. It's called 'precedence'. I am sure I can find posts of you insulting someone prior to my 4/2009 join date.

Funny coming from someone who a number of posts up called someone a moron. No come-backs to my replies to your trolling?

What would it take to get the trolls out of here? Having an IQ test of some sort or just a brief investigation of age?.....This third grade mentality is getting very old, very quick.

So these events occur occasionally? How does one find out about them. I'd love to hear some different equipment to hear the differences myself.

They happen all the time! There's an Indiana meet coming up soon(March 7th is the projected date), that a bunch of us are attending. I believe a Seattle meet is in the works currently too.

There are plenty of them in your neck of the woods too, just keep your eyes peeled in the events section.
