I've had this theory for a long time that cable naysayers are probably liberals who are afraid someone might try to defraud them. I vote windbag anyway.

I don't know. Seems they would be more willing to try stuff. I'm thinking it may not be related to being liberal. I know I basically have a conservative approach to life in general, but love to buy/test/test/test/sell audio gear. :)

i don't know how politics enters into this, but from my experience, the Liberals I know all tend to be very closed minded while Conservatives tend to be more open to other points of view.

Roger Russell sure is a master of playing both sides though, with the strong statements that wires don't matter and then the hype that he uses Cardas his monstrosity speakers. That disingenuous playing of both sides, well . . . . it does seem to be a bit like politics. :D

There is plenty of support for Roger Russell's position on speaker cables.

Not here there isn't because a large number of us have actually tried different cables....something you have never done, which makes you and your opinions null and void.

I wish there was a way to view the number of total number of posts behind those who voted "windbag" versus the total number of posts behind those who voted "genius".

I'll bet it would skew the results to about 99% windbag.

I'm guessing based upon the way it's been playing out, TROLLS / ACORN are registering accounts with 1 post and voting genius.

Ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner!!!

That's the biggest problem with those who are unwilling to learn.

Ill be the first to admit, Im the weakest link in my system. What sounds good to me may sound like crap to an audiophile. I cant afford big name cables at this point but I can say that upgrading from crappy spearker wire to 14ga monoprice made a huge difference for me. Right now its Rat Shack's top o the line IC's until I can afford better.
