Those blue f@ckers surely know how to squeeze every penny out of the entire human planet :D One of my company's young tech guys actually went around pronouncing his belief on the existence of such aliens, oh yeah! :p To me, enough with the greedy selling already! Making a couple of billions of dollars at the theater during the first wave, selling a huge chunk of theatrical-version bluray discs, then releasing the 3D extended version to the theater for the 2nd wave, and of course the 3D extended version on bluray is about to come, uh, will there be a 3D 2160p version soon? :D 90% of the tax breaks and stimulation packages for the economy have probably ended up in these blue f@ckers' pockets :p

Who cares? Fracking bassholes. There is more to a movie than bass. ;)

I think I will go see it in a theater just as an experiment. I need glasses to see distant objects, and my right eye is a lot stronger than the left, so I have been curious if I can see 3D as represented in a movie.

I have recalibrated my setup and quad Empires. Avitar Hometree chapter with my normal listening (-14 on reciever in THX Cinema 2) got 108 db. Now this was on the tree coming down with explosions and hitting the ground.

While the responses to another thread I started on this subject was just the usual bad-mouthers of the movie, I personally like Avatar, and have watched it 3 times now. However, I really do not care for all the extras that come with DVDs. Never have, and assuming the extras are not nude scenes of the actresses, probably never will.

The additional footage to the movie is 16 minutes. Whether that adds to the story is unknown. I know that both Aliens and Terminator 2 were better movies with the extended edition, so I hope the same thing happens to Avatar.

There is a lot more than 18 minutes of extra movie your talking almost 2 hours of extra movie. I love the movie so more is good.

Really. I guess I misread it. I thought the deleted scenes were not added back into the movie, but just on their own disk. I was under the impression the movie itself was only 16 minutes longer.

It said the total movie with the added stuff was like 3 hours and 4 minutes long which is a bit longer than what the original was and longer than 18 minutes. I also look forward to the other stuff they will show.

I could be wrong but the actual movie was close to three hours - so with the added stuff you are talking 3 hours and 4 minutes? Cant be much longer than 18 minutes

Yeah, that's what Avatar was missing, it needed to be longer. Yeah, that will be awesome. Thanks for making it longer. Fantastic. Yeah.
