Unfortunately I can't take credit for the departure but I encourage any veteran member to entertain any and all avenues of internet participation. The world is just toooo darn big and there's so much more to do in audio.

Man, some of this is going over my head, I guess I don't read sarcasm font very well, or if this is meant to be sarcastic or not.

Anyway, the one thing I would suggest the veteran members keep in mind is that if someone (newb or otherwise) READS the forum a lot, but doesn't post much or at all, that person may get a feeling that they know you (pretty) well, and may even feel like they are "one of the gang", yet the veterans may feel like you don't know them from Adam.

I feel like I fall in this catagory, as I read the forum everyday, and I signed up as soon as I found this place, but I post infrequently, mostly because I don't have much of value to add...you guys mostly have forgotten more about audio than I know. I feel like I know some of you guys, especially since I may have seen photos from PF or whatever, so I can even sometimes put a face with a name. You, OTOH, probably would say "Who the f@ck is this seeclear guy?, and why is he mucking up my forum?" If we were in a bar, I would be the weird guy in the corner who is watching you all the time, but on an internet forum, you can't even see me, so there is not even that amount of familiarity on your part. Anyway, someone like me may sometimes post in a more familiar tone, 'cause I feel like I know you guys, but it would be easy for you to take offense, because it feels like some newb is coming in and acting like he belongs when you don't feel he has that right.

I don't know if any of this makes sense, but I guess just give the newbs a break unless they really seem to be interested only in trolling and 'stirring the pot', in which case ignore them and they will move on. My 2 cents.

I am not a French man myself...but there is also at least some Spanish up there...and I can hack that out, along with a number of other languages. French has long lost it's high Culture associations. Watch out for "Chinese" as the New venue?

As for sarcasm....hey, some people think being born is a form of cosmic sarcasm or satire! So you can take it from there. Or as my recently deceased father used to tell me,

"Don't EVER expect, ANYONE to EVER tell you you've done well or better than they have because they're either envious of you or they're horribly insecure about themselves?"

Such is LIFE!

Take your pick guys....that was a wise man! So why worry about sarcasm...forge ahead, be yourself. And if that's not good enough! You know what to do.
