Its you regular on here that start many of the fights
Do not lump sum every regular into this category. It is an incorrect general assumption.
YOUR SOOOOOO SO RUDE IN A SNOTTY WAY
This is not rude? Capitalized letters represent screaming on an internet board.
.....if you addressed people in the real world in that manner then youd all be in and out of hospital week in, week out
Again, a very incorrect general assumption. Obviously you are making your assumptions based upon the warranted responses to you and other trolls. You reap what you sow. You fail to miss the countless other posts that help the many that come seeking advice or help.

Just ignore posts you don't like. Ignore members you don't like. They will go away when they find out they have no soapbox from which to be heard.

If you choose to not participate then you won't clog up the forum with stupid threads like this. As far as I am concerned threads like this are of the same mold as "trolls". No offense, but you just gotta let it go. Gettin' all pissy and calling for reform is the chaos any troll wants.

Don't participate, the community will correct itself from within. We are all adults. We don't need any more moderation.

Mark, I loves ya' bro but you are losing respect with each post you make. You tell TroyD to **** off and the next thing you know, we [as a forum] can't edit. Folks that have a legit complaint about trolls and others not following the rules set forth in this forum and you tell them to take a hike. Nice, real nice.

All we are asking for is a little respect and help in cleaning up the forum. You dig?

Not too much to ask at all. You know, having folks follow the forum rules?

It's not that I can't handle an internet forum. I have thick skin. I just don't feel like dealing with **** that come here to throw offensive threads and get away with it. If this is the new forum, then have fun with it.

Tom - Troy and I hashed all that out ages ago and it had ZERO to do with you and ZERO to do with editing posts. I'm not here to win a popularity contest and if I lose your respect, I'll have to find some way to deal with that in private I guess. I'm sure Perghaps thru intensive therapy and medication. Just because the Red Hat Club doesn't always get their way doesn't mean you aren't respected or that you're not listened to behind the scenes. You think you know more than you do and as far as newbies go....you're as much of a newbie to me as the next guy. Whatever, carry on, fly into a blind rage, kick a dog or punch your children....I don't have any more control over your life than you over mine.

What thread is around now? I'm sorry Ricardo but I'm not seeing a huge problem. I'm on daily, if not 3-4 times and there are 6 others that prowl, close and delete. There is an awful lot of latitude that senior members and the core are given, we can shut that down starting tonight.

All I and others are asking is for the forum members to follow the rules. Trolling, name calling and other rules are violated on many posts by some of the latest rash of members. A warning perhaps? A PM to let them know that they are treading on thin ice?

Why the constant allowing of abusive posts? I'm not looking to change the forum. What I and others are asking is that we have a little bit more help in maintaining civility on this board. Allowing newbies who are obvious trolls to continue their banter is no different than offering permission to continue trolling.

If Polk wants to abandon the rules of the forum, then fine. We'll deal with it. Why, when we do have rules are they not being enforced? All that does is trash the forum with useless posts, creates a harbor for trolls and offers permission for those that are troublemakers to continue doing what they are doing.

As for the Troy thing, I'll admit I may have read into that the wrong way. I just noticed what I noticed. If all is well, that will be the last statement on that subject.

Ill be the first to admit, I have posted a few and posted in a few threads with less than half a brain working and I apologize for it. Just about everyone that posts here has said some pretty nasty things, deserving or not. I have said all along nobody "owns" this forum and asking for administrative privlages is a little out of line. If the Mods feel its time for someone to go then they will make that decision.

Tom what you are asking for is preferential treatment for some members & for some newbies to be put down at will.

But as Mark pointed out HALF of the problem is with established members as well. If those members would IGNORE the trolls they would go away all on their own. But they don't everyone has to prove what a big man they are.

"There is an awful lot of latitude that senior members and the core are given, we can shut that down starting tonight."

I'm all for ALL forum members following the rules Tom. Mark, I think it is time for your above statement to be put in effect. If they decide to leave for good, so be it. Maybe the other tough guys will get the hint and start hitting the report button rather than keeping the fight going.

Incorrect. What I and others are asking for is the rules to be enforced or abandon the rules altogether.

    Clear enough now?

It seems a lot of members are so concerned with rule #8.....what about the other rules? This place would be empty if they enforced ALL of the rules.

    From the rules:

Welcome to Club Polk - Forum Rules
You are here because you purchase and own Polk speakers. We would like to welcome you to our online community. These forums are dedicated to you.

Here are some rules to make our forums interesting, educational, and fun:

    Forum Rules
    1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed.

    2) The discussion of politics and religion is not allowed on this forum.

    3) Pornography and violent images or discussions are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives.

    4) No fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

    VERY IMPORTANT...

If you have a problem with another member's comments in a posted thread, DO NOT respond with any further comments that will aggravate the situation. Members have two options of recourse....

    1. Email the moderators, directing them to the individual and thread that the problem occurs in.
    2. Resolve the problem between both of you via PERSONAL email.

Reacting to a hostile post with more hostility puts YOU in jeopardy, and risks your account from being deleted. To be objective and fair about situations where forum members are attacking each other, BOTH members' accounts will be removed from our forum (and no, we don't care who started it).

    5) No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be removed.

    6) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.

    7) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. Fact is, home theater is an exploding industry. More and more people all the time are discovering the joys of DVD and audiophile music. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage industry growth, which will result in better prices and better equipment for all us heathens.

    8) Trolling - members who make a conscious effort to inflame or irritate others will be removed.

    9) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.

I haven't seen these threads everyone is talking about...probably b/c I dont venture off to the home audio side. But theres enough people concerned enough to start and maintain 2 separate threads about the matter, then its obvious they DO NOT have things under control.
