Feel free to scour through all 800 or so of my post's .

Well ..... I already had plans for my weekly "Pound my gonads with a ball peen hammer", so ...... I might have to put that off until this weekend.

You do posses quite a bit of knowledge in regard's to audio equipment i will agree

Well, I have to admit I was wrong. There is some hope (however slight) for you after all.

    but your attitude/people skill's stink :o

No, Joe's people skills are just fine. His 'problem', if you want to call it that, is that he doesn't suffer fools gladly. And you know what ? That's A-O-Fugging-Kay.

This thread is pathetic. There has been nothing meaningful said for the last 4 or more pages. Is there a 'Report this Thread' button? A lot of it is quite offensive and has crossed too many lines.

How old are we all? To have to resort to name calling because of ones opinion is crazy! Even my 8 year old handles things better than you all.

In all honesty, what has Emotiva done? Heck, if you really want a villain to attack, look at Lexicon. Makes you wonder what other "high-end" companies are taking lower-cost products and re-badging them with a higher cost.

This thread isn't supposed to make sense so it is with trepidation that I suggest (and I am NO fan of Emotiva)...that SOMEONE bring an Emo to the next Polk fest and let's have this done with OK!

Does that sound crazy or what? I'm sure a lot of guys here would like to put that Emo through the paces next to other pieces. Then they could actually provide constructive reviews right here in this thread....

    Yeah I know, I know....nobody cares.

dude, honestly its not about what Emo has done its about the fan bois coming in proclaiming all these great things and then all hell breaks lose. If you want to talk about lexicon redoing the Oppo there is another thread for that.

btw hearingimpaired is a great guy to talk to and get advice from. I'm sick of people that have to belittle others who really have no idea WhAt ThEy ArE tAlKiNg about. maybe how about you grow up and learn to listen to others and respect them because maybe that have been around things more than you and know what they are talking about, and maybe try not to be so easily offended when someone says your little amp sucks, its called its life, get over it or get a diaper and be a baby, no one gives a rats ****.

+1 on hearingimpared, he's actually diffused many absurd debates on this site in the spirit of open debate and discussion....If he's having problems with someone...I'd say that perhaps a bit of 'self-reflection' and less 'projection' is in order.

But by responding to the posts, the thread stays at the top of the page and gets read and then others feed on the back and forth banter and the cycle repeats. Nothing ever gets resolved because in the end there will be those who love the products and other who don't. But this can be said for many products.

This is worse than the LCD vs. Plasma or speaker/IC/power cable debates that I have read. Or don't get me started on power conditioners or surge protectors. That will make ones head hurt for days.

I think I've already addressed this by saying, 'I know pot calling the kettle black  ' in my response. But thanks for the suggestion.

I really just insinuated that this post has become very off topic when it reverts to name calling and instead of stooping to that level, moving on to another thread may be more beneficial.

Ugh!!....I just responded with 3 paragraphs and it made me log in again...my write up no where to be found....

    Summary....

I auditioned Carver 500M, Rotel RB-990BX, and XPA-2 over summer 2009. None of the amps "buried" the other one. Carver did sound a little different...not bad, not good..just different IMO. I kept the XPA-2, sold the Carver, still have the Rotel I'd like to unload.

With the handful of amps I've auditioned over the years I have yet to hear to amps with similiar specs "blow away" any other. IMO..as long as they have similiar specs and are functioning properly the differences are usually subtle at best.

Fair enough. At least you've got the experience there. :) I auditioned the XPA-2 against an Onkyo M5150, Kenwood Basic M2, and an Adcom GFA-545. The XPA-2 had a slight edge in power at ridiculous listening levels that i would never dream of listening to anyways, but to my ears, the Onkyo and the Kenwood were smoother, and no so overboosted/in your face. The Onkyo was the warmest amp by far, then the Kenwood, then the Emo, then the Adcom.

I know, it's a strange comparison, so i'm not going to sit here and say "ONKYO IS THE BEST BAR NONE!!!!!!" :p
