One thing that has kinda tickled me is that there is a 16mh inductor in each cab. So that looks like to me reading the schematics that 2 16mh inductors in parallel equal one 8mh inductor if the middle of the IC cable were attached directly to the amp ground.

The thing is when I watch movies I will be using the dim drivers for LFE.

With the sonosub? This should be interesting. Might have a phase problem between the demension drivers (LFE) and the sub (LFE), being both are tuned to different Fr.

First you have a beautiful daughter :D and second i suggest you lock your volume control somehow or fence the stereo in don't want your kids cranking it up the speakers look like they'll instantly rupture a child's eardrums :S but all of us here can take that kinda volume and still keep turning the knob to 11 right ;) but seriously those are are a pair of beasts! if they sound as good as they look you may need to build a new addition to your house cuz we will all be moving in with you for a while :D

Speakers look great. As far as piano black goes, why not add some wood look to them as well? Front piano black, sides veneered or something like that?

They should of said 6.28 instead of pie*2.
It's never a good idea to round up until the final result. It might not be a big difference in the end result but at least you know you're not rounding the wrong way. It's not really that hard to bit the pi on your calculator, is it? :)

Even the windows software calculator has it, 2* pi = 6.283185307179586476925286766559. Took me three presses, 6.28 takes 4... :D

Smart ****:D Its just a little confusing to guys who might take it as some sort of variable instead of just entering a constant. The cabinets will stay MDF for a little while. I was actually thinking cherry or mahogany sides, and a mild textured black front and rear. My projector screen is right at the edge of my speakers, so I am kinda concerned about reflections from that.

Then again, if you're looking at a technical article that puts in 3.14 instead of pi, it takes a LOT of credibility away. Besides, who doesn't know what pi is?

Glossy is never a good idea with projectors, I'm having a minor issue with reflections with my LSi15's because of that but luckily nothing major. My suggestion was just to avoid totally black, adding wood (colour) would make them look much better.

I'm testing a new idea on coating for the inside of my cabinets. I was at Lowe's looking at different coatings to help deaden the cabs. What I came up with was driveway sealer. It is rubberized, latex based, and fume friendly. I did a test stick earlier today, and came to the conclusion i have to put 3 thin coats on with plenty of time to dry. On the last coat I will use the sealer as the adhesive for the poly batting. It does indeed help deaden the sound. I tested it on metal too. I compares well will dynomat. $25 a five for the better stuff.

Why not use this for the inside for the cabinet? I use this in my center and subs, works like a charm.

About next weekend. I will be posting new pics as I go. I have the kids again today. They won't be totally finished as in painted, and veneered for a while. I will have to recoup from this project monetarily.

What are you estimating as break-in time?

At 1050 watts per channel clean, about 20 minutes.:D

    Edit
Just checked on my driveway sealer test sample. No swelling of wood or problems bonding. I put it on very thick. As in I dipped a piece of mdf in the bucket just to see what would happen. I did this to over exaggerate any failures. It has passed the test.

I'll take it easy for a little while. Let them loosen up. I have too much time in these to screw them up.
I crank my stuff pretty loud, but as soon as I see the distortion lights flicker it goes down a notch.

This is where I think there is something wrong Ben. I crank my stuff up to pretty high levels too. Many times I've had to turn it down cause it would make my ears ring but I've never seen the distortion lights flicker or hear the amps give out or back off, ever. I think having plenty of overhead is imperative. Good clean headroom is a must in my book, more so than just outright high power.

Nothing wrong. Thats driving to levels above 115db at seating position. Everyone is different. My X wifes ears would be ringing at about 110db. I can handle up to 120db for a little while, but typically I like 110 for listening sessions. ;)

Oh the sweet sound of success!
I tried using rubberized latex based driveway sealer for sound deadening.
    It absolutely works!
I went out today, and banged on the treated end with a hammer.
    Thud thud thud
Then I banged on the untreated end.
    Ring ring ring.
Huge difference. It bonded well to. I just dipped the stick in the sealer knowing this is the best way to get the product to fail(peel/crack). It bonded very well. I am going to put a light coat on first, then a heavier coat. Last coat I will use to adhere the poly batting.
    Very happy. Very happy indeed!
