Mike, What kind of offer are they making you to stay in?? I heard that some of the reenlistment bonuses are getting huge, depending on your field."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

First off, thank you Joey... I signed my name on the dotted line about 5 years ago.

I really don't know to tell you truth? It really doesn't matter because they could not offer me enough to do that, I've served my time. Before I left SD back in May, they were only offering me about $5 g's. Which is really horrible considering my job, I look for explosives for a living! I'm military police with a bomb sniffing K9 named Damien.:) The bonuses fluctuate from time to time, it could be as much as 50 g now? I'm not interested anymore this is my third and last deployment! I have a family and the most beautiful 10 month old daughter to worry about now.:) -
Allow me to clarify some things - although you make it difficult for me since you've been editing your posts:Joey_V wrote:Victor... you brought up benjamins before I did on this thread. Joey's gear is a given. Are you going to have any decent cables or IC's by then Joey?Joey_V wrote:I'm not sure.... I should have some by then.Joey_V wrote:And H9... you dont need to show me what true sources can do, I've heard it and I know what it can do. For me, the SB3 works perfectly fine at the moment. Regardless of amount spent, no one here, I believe, has the right to say, "I wont listen to FLAC at the gathering."
I said it and I'll say it again. Doesn't mean you can't bring it, just that I don't want to hear it. I have that right just as anyone else has the right to not listen to something they have no interest in. I also have no interest in MP3's or iPods, etc. Clear enough?

I hope you are not that anal about food or drink? Does that mean you won't eat or drink if it's not to your liking either sir?;) -
For an event that is at least 6 months away, we seem to be spending more time pissing on it rather than planning it. Lets get back to the fun part.
I am really looking forward to this event. Lets not derail it this early in the game. Everyone has made their points and we are not going to explain or convince anyone into changing their minds. If possible, please let things drop from the thread and carry on with PM's if you have to.
You can see most of the gear people have in thier sigs. What gear (or beer.. ) do you have that is not in your sig and what do you want to listen to???
My gear:- In my sig +
- SDA 1b (non-upgraded)
- RM6600 + polk PSW350 sub
- onkyo 777 avr
- yamaha C85 preamp. (late 80's solid state 2 channel (pre remote control))
My wish list:- I am looking forward to the summits,
- Mikes LSi15's in all 4 corners of his ht.
- I hope to have the opportunity to check out some other pre/pros. I would love to shootout some pre/pros with the LSi setup. (NAD vs Rotel vs Outlaw would be awesome. (opus has a rotel and I have an NAD - anyone have the outlaw?))
- While I am not in the market for 2 channel, I would be interested in hearing what I am giving up by running a pre/pro vs a dedicated 2 channel preamp.
MichaelMains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms) -
I'll bring a few tube amps and pres."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

President of Club Polk -
Things I am looking forward to at the Fest:
- I havent really heard a full out LSi setup. Mikes 4xLSi15 would be a treat for sure!
- Like I said earlier, I would like to hear SDA, McLoki's got some I can see from his sig.
- Carver Amazings, if possible.... but I know they're hard to transport.
- Whichever else is out there... not sure if I missed it on this thread.
- I would also like to learn more about tube amps and pres, I see ND13 is bringing more than a few. A good compare and contrast would be nice... as well as a lesson in tubes and amp/preamp topologies.
We should start with an equipment list as this will get real hairy real fast.

Noel - Rich & Norm (especially Norm) look to be last minute decisions. I'd say we're at our host's stated quota but maybe we can squeeze a few more in?Joey_V wrote:We should start with an equipment list as this will get real hairy real fast.
I'll be happy to handle the "gear list" folks. Send me what you have or plan to bring as well as what you'd like to see / hear. After everything is submitted I'll post the results.

Now there's an understatement. They are very easy to screw up. And a **** to set up. IMHO, that's something the host should have, I wouldn't take mine anywhere. -

Ok the important stuff.... The beer list... Home brew isn't for everyone, it's a lot stronger in flavor than most domestic beers, even the lighter brews. I'll bring two 5 gallon kegs for some sampling (lots of samples). I will try to make a lighter beer, although I never have, so we will see how it turns out. My other favorites are stout, european style bock, belgian white, and nut brown ale. If any of those sound good, let me know. Otherwise, I'll take requests and then pick one.
Alright, back to audio gear...... I would be very interested in the 4x LSI15 setup. The tube pre and amp shootout sounds awesome also. From there it is all learning experience for me.HT

I'm still trying to go through the thread and figure out what the dates are, however with this much lead time count me in! Bloomington is great for a location, and count me in for bringing/supplying/chipping in on food and drinks. You don't have to make a light beer just for me, especially if you've never made it before. 5 gallons is a lot of beer to go to waste. Thanks anyway...I'll have plenty of regular light beer at the house. I'm open to taste test any beer you bring, it's all good...
I'm really excited to actually see and hear all this high end audio equipment, I've never heard any of this stuff in house before. It will sure be a treat, I just hope I don't get bit by the bug.:( -
Yea, I'm pretty much terminal with the audio bug now. My wife is now too, so this is not going to be a good thing.
I'll make a nice easy drinking summer brew...oh...and by the way....no beer will go to waste. IF there is any left, I'll just take it home and drink it. I don't even take offense if somebody tells me my beer sucks ****, because that just means there's more for me to drink!!!HT
