don't. If SACD was developed by a fledeling (SP) company, then I'd say take the risk.

Now i don't sweat it. I just listen to redbook in Logic 7 or DPL IIX Music mode.

I have NO regrets, what's out there has made it well worth while for me to get into SACD. If anyone would like to continue this topic I'd suggest we take it to another thread.

    Just as a final note.

I do not want anyone to think I am some kind of hater or anything like that.

I may not agree with homosexuality but I do not treat homosexuals any different than people who are straight.
I do not talk down to anybody or try to avoid anybody because they are ****.
I do not avoid buisnesses that employ homosexuals. (or I would never get my Starbucks :D )
Just because I voiced my opinions here does not mean I don't like anyone. I have simply partaken in a lively discussion that I feel went very well on both sides and I really hope no feelings were hurt.

We all have opnions and some of you were very wise to keep yours to yourself.

it was a good discussion.. it's died down quite a bit now.. at least the serious part of it has. I think good points were made, no matter which side of the fence you are on. There is still much more to say and learn about.

Homosexuality is an emotional issue that not everyone enjoys talking about openly.. or supports either. for whatever the reason may be... But discussion's like this can be civil and we all end up better for it.

Props to everyone who contributed and hopefully.. something was learned from it.

just read the thread. CHRIST that was a lot of reading!

I'm not going to rehash anything, but the only thoughts that stick in my mind is regarding sexual preference as a choice.
basically, anyone that thinks sexual preference can be learned and chosen, as opposed to it being hardwired into you from jumpstreet needs to do some research.

sexual preference is a spectrum, not just 2 simple points. This is what explains "bi curiosity" and what not. Your point on the spectrum is predetermined from birth, its NOT learned. Experiments were done to try to prove the opposite, and lives were destroyed because of it.

Anyone that thinks sexual experimentation is a new phenomenon caused solely by the **** community is demonstrating serious ignorance. Its just publicized more by meida and whatnot. It was well hidden in the past, it doesnt mean it wasnt going on.

One day, during puberty, I saw a hot chick, and the chemical reactions started. I did not choose to like hot chicks.

in regards to the **** marriage issue, I really dont care either way. its not to be an offence to either side by the way. I look at it like this, The argument seemed to start along the lines of **** couples having the rights that married couples enjoy. (the "hospital thing", tax breaks, joint property rights, basically living as one unit). I initially saw this as the goal, and a noble goal it was. One fateful day, the argument blossommed into the "we should be allowed to just get married" cause. whoever made that choice wasnt to smart, at least in regards to the goal of getting the rights they wanted in the first place. I feel the argument morphed into the full on marriage fight because of acceptance issues, not about rights. I really got the "you will accept us wether you like it or not" vibe. (again, not me, I reafirm that I didnt care from jumpstreet, this is purely observation) I viewed it as the **** community losing site of the prize, and fighting too much of the war in one shot. Rome wasnt built in a day, and neither will **** rights and acceptance. The biggest opponent was the religious right, and calling them out into a fight was not the smartest move in my opinion.

When that argument was made, the **** community basically called out the religious right into the fight, whereas when it was just a civil union issue, they seemed to be sleepy on the issue, i.e. no big whoop.

OK, why am I a hypocrite because I would love to see Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie taking a warm shower together but have no interest in seeing a couple Marlboro men doing the same??

Would you want to watch Rosanne Barr and John Goodman taking a warm shower together? Probably not. Does that mean youre fataphobic or uglyphobic? Wouldnt that be hypocrytical because you dont want to watch 2 ugly people in a love scene but have no problem with seeing Brad Pitt and Jolie in one?

I dont understand why anyone that isnt bending over backward to show their approval of homosexuality is an ****!!

I dont think enjoying looking at Angelina and Jennifer making out but not the marlboro men makes one a hippocrit. its thinking one is perfectly ok, but the other is not. Thats where the hippocracy comes in.

me? (that that I take my opinion too seriously) think both are fine. but I'd muuuuuuuuch rather see Angy and Jenni :D )

its not about acceptance or endorsement, its about tolerance. some guys like chicks, some like other guys. I dont judge on that alone. One of my inlaws is ****. came out in a funny and shocking way too, but that is another story. I still love the kid, it didnt change anything. he didnt go from being a good kid to evil with one stunning realization.

Please tell me where I JUDGED anyone. I was stating an OPINION about true homophobes. I don't think that most of you are ho,ophobes, just misinformed about the subject is all. Ther IS medical proof about the hypothalamus in a homosexual man being closer to a woman's than other men's. And no I'm not saying that all **** men's hypo is womanlike, to which I'd have to say that that could be used for an arguement that SOME **** men MIGHT have learned or chose the lifestyle. But I think that the majority really and truly don't have a CHOICE, it's hardwired in from birth. I haven't seen the studies on lesbians so I can't comment on them. All I know is we all start out as females. Would it not be feasible that SOME men might have more female-like genes than male in some instances???

My whole point is one of being tolerant of the differences that make the human race so special.

That's an opinion, not a judgement. Please refer to my edit above. :)

Did I mention anyone in particular??? Are you saying that you're a homophobe??? I didn't think so.

I never said that I agree with homosexuality or disagree with it. I'm tolerant of it. It's not up to me whether or not it's right or wrong. I've known quite a few **** people from working in the hotel/restaurant biz, and none ever made me feel uncomfortable except one and we had our talk and that was that.

I hear ya bro but tolerance doesnt mean approval. My dad doesnt approve of me spending all my money on car audio gear and I disapprove of him spending all his on stupid junk at Big Lots but we get along just fine.

I also have a problem with it not being a choice. Every **** guy or **** I know has dated from the opposite sex. Hell a couple of them get married for a couple years then switches back to the other team and so on.

The explanation they use is that they dated the opposite sex because it was what they thought they were supposed to do. Now I dont care how many people are telling me I need to swap spit with this burly cowboy, I aint gonna do it! Could you?

But to me the whole choice/not a choice argument is irrelevant because this is a free country and you have the right to sleep with and be with whoever you wish regardless if I approve or not. :)

I think we are debating two different things. I'm in no way saying that you or anybody else can't express their opinion about the subject. I never called anyone here a homophobe. It was just an opinion about the true homophobes I've known personally, which, being from the South, is quite a few. :D

You're taking my statement out of context when you cut the other half of the sentence out, don't you think???

I never called you a name, either. You're more than welcome to express your opinion and as you know, we tend to agree on most subjects.

I probably shouldn't have thrown the Phobic thing out there, but the jist of the attitude that I see more or less isn't just a shrug of the shoulders and a "to each their own" attitude.......it's a judgemental 'it's wrong and i won't support it' that basically puts out there that the thought is **** people are to be avoided.....

Certainly everyone is welcome to their own opinions, but I rarely, if ever, hear any **** person ever passing judgement on the straight community which cannot be said about the majority of the straight community.

Also, one other thing that the whole marriage thing entails is shared family health benefits that are (with few exceptions) not offered to **** couples. The health industry more or less mandates that in order to have a you + 1 you have to be married.....

I could be wrong, but I don't think the **** community initiated the religious right into this one......I recall things in my old church (Mormon) circulating that they were urging people to get involved and keeping things from being legalized etc......I don't think this cause (if you will) is something the religious right could possibly keep to themselves about to be honest.

yo, so i went to a new barber/hair stylist. i do believe the dude was ****. let's not argue the fact that i may be labeling. let's just agree that he is. okay, so i've come to grips that the dude is most likely ****. no prob. okay, so then i begin thinking about where his hands have been and will be later that night. no big whoop. he may have been checkin' me out, he may not have been. i had no prob whatsoever and felt comfortable the whole time. he was even flicking the shaver in some weird-**** way on my head, but it just showed the dude had technique. i may not fully approve of homosexuality, but i definately tolerate it with no probs. dude was really cool and the best hair stylist i've ever had give me a fade.

it would have been awkward to have asked him if he was 'married', though.

No bad blood here bro. Im just objecting to the general idea that if you believe homosexuality to be wrong then youre an evil person bent on the destruction of all homosexuals and nothing could be further from the truth.

Me only point is that you can disapprove of homosexuallity and bear no ill will or malice toward the homosexual at all. Like I said, my dad is insane and I disapprove of most of the boneheaded things he does yet I love him and we get along just fine.

I look at it like race, homosexuallity is not who you are, its just a particular preference you have in your private life. Just like being black doesnt define the person, its just happens to be that persons particular skin color.
