The worst thing that has ever happened in terms of awareness of climate change was the coining of the phrase "global warming". Now every time it gets cold or snows people say "See! Nothing's wrong!"

Climate change is about the extremes growing more extreme. The warm seasons are growing warmer and the cold seasons are growing colder. Whether or not it's due to CO2 emissions is up for the scientists to debate, correlation does not always equate to causation. But it simply cannot be denied that we're seeing colder colds and hotter hots.

You have to give it a name, otherwise they can't tax it. Let's see, we had Global Warming, then they changed it to Climate Change, now the made it even more scary, Disruptive Climate Change. Next year it will be Super Disruptive Climate Change, and finally Ultra Mega Disruptive Global Climate Change. Their throwing s**t against the wall to see what sticks, and scares the most people.

Somewhat agree....but again, seeing colder colds and hotter hots as compared to what ? Recent memory ? A small snippet of time ? You could apply anything you want to that small comparison. We make calculations and guesses based on recorded info, which is only roughly a hundred years.....out of 4.5 billion. That's like a grain of sand on a beach. Are there patterns that say the planet has warmed 1.5 degrees in the last 100 years ? Yeah, there is. Is there anything to say this is not a normal fluctuation in global climate patterns ? No...there isn't. Why ? Because we don't know what we don't know....and that's any accurate weather stats older than 100 years.

Ten years ago, the "predictions" were the ice caps would melt, oceans would rise, devastation to coastal areas. Ocean levels have remained constant, predictions are therefore....wrong. Today, the same people are making more dire "predictions". Before that, the predictions were we might be entering a new ice age. Wrong again....though this winter may change your mind on that one.

For the sake of discussion, please then show me the plan to reduce the colder colds and hotter hots. Is it proven that x amount of lower carbon deposits will indeed regulate weather ? How was this test done on such a global scale ? Or are we working off "predictions"? If that's the case, we all know how that ends up.

Colder colds...hotter hots....simply move to what floats your boat then. Why do we have to spend money on something beyond our control ? If it was in our control, the governments of the world would then do their thing and tell winter to back off, send those polar Vortex's back to Canada. They can't obviously, and no amount of money or slight carbon reduction will change the seasons and their extremes. Simple really....when it rains, you bring an umbrella. When it snows....you wear a coat. When it's hot...you turn on the A/C and chill. Don't like weather extreme's....move...or adapt.

Oceans may indeed rise over time....or fall. Islands will disappear...new ones will pop up. Coastal areas may get wiped out, they rebuild. The landscape of the planet is in constant change by many forces of nature which happens to be oblivious to our money or legislation.

Well they used to call it global cooling during the cooling cycle, changed it to global warming during the warming cycle then changed to climate change now that we have neither warmed nor cooled for 20 yrs, go figure. Its just another money making form of religion to join.

Just turkeys...

And we observed an amusing nature footnote this morning - we watched the turkeys, one by one, fly down to the ground from their roosts in the woods - nearly disappear into the snow, stand there dumbfounded (and barely visible) for a few moments, then fly back up into the trees! :-)

To paraphrase humorist Dave Barry, There's a reason you'll never hear the expression, "Smart as a turkey"...

Oh stop George, just my opinion is all and as always, open to discussion. People can believe whatever they want, no skin off my nose....and I have a big nose. lol Is it too much to ask for the believers to explain why they believe it ? What makes them think more money in the hands of bureaucrats will somehow change weather patterns of a planet ? The same people who can't run a post office, or put up a website is suppose to control global weather extremes ? Seriously ? Your more than welcome to explain how that gets done.

Took out a transformer somewhere on the grid between the source an me.

Running on a propane standby generator.

Propane tank is low.

Eastern Propane failed to make the scheduled automatic delivery for February.

I just watched the weather report and they said we might get another 12 inches of heavy wet snow on Thursday night. Just got done plowing out from the blizzard yesterday. WTF??
