I think a nice Polk audio hardback history book would be nice and maybe some nice speaker covers/socks. I'm sure the designs are already complete and design points are not what they are looking for.

I'm glad this thread has captured your imagination. And thanks for the great ideas. Don't stop if you have more.

Several have ask when the new LSi will be available. I can't tell you just yet. We are inviting a select group from the press to Baltimore in Aug. I have to give them the breaking news but you're the next to know. I'll tell you what I know on August 13.

we should be realistic here... Fancy packaging will just increase the costs of the speaker, and 99% of the users will toss the packaging. It is not cost effective for most users. To me, the sound is the most important factor. Using high quality components in the crossover and drivers will make or break the speaker. Leather books on the history of Polk? not really.

But you are kidding, right? I mean, should I expect all companies I've purchased products from to just keep shipping me nice little extras 'cause they love me? I bought my LSis on Craigslist... should I expect the original owner to send me this stuff once he gets it from Polk? Don't be ridiculous.

Ok! Polk does not need to send anything to the guys who bought the LSis on Craigslist. Now, that would be a mean joke. Seriously, not every LSi owners buy one off from Craigslist.

That is where I tought they belong.
Geez I was in a tongue in cheek mode and didn't need a business lesson!:D

This is what I was referring to. Polk already has that in place with their ebay store. Now if you mean they would have to employ many more for the proposed traded in program then yes I agree with you. However, they could do it if it just applied to upgraded versions like the LSi's I guess.
Polk has a team of technicians which I believe is already quite busy with refurbing and testing returns yes, I would imagine adding a trade package to the worload of refurbishing could potentially require the additions of new technicians to the team.

Here in America that would be the IRS because the donations could be written off.
Correct me if I am wrong but the benifit of a write off is minimal (only a small portion in return) right?

I'll let you take a little break for now but get ready for your next business lesson ;):D:p

I think a limited time swag with the new LSi's would be cool. It should be done tactfully and product specific though.

Slightly OT... can someone tell me why Polk is reluctant to sell swag on a regular basis? I bought vintage logos on the FM just so I could display them. It probably would have been better if someone restoring vintage Polks bought them and I was able to buy something meant to be displayed.

It could be pretty cool too. My company gives away at trade shows a type of glass because the company name is close to this type of glass. Every year or two they change the design and there are people who have become collectors. It's a cool way to enforce brand loyalty.

Very nice! The use of a small(ish) tweeter and mid will have excellent off axis performance, which results in better imaging, soundstage, and a larger sweet spot.

Can we get a higher res version? They look closer to the RTiA look. I prefer the present LSi look with the offset tweeter.

The offset tweeter is because they are mirror imaged not for the look. It appears the new LSi's aren't mirror imaged. I'm sure there is a technical reason for this. :)

Yeah, like how many times have people come on here asking why they couldn't hear something out of one of their speakers.:p

Nice! size-wise it appears to be more of a LSi9 replacement. No?

No LSiC replacement this first round? I am just assuming that, by looking at the LSiC in that room. High-Rez pic would be nice, but beggars can't be choosy.. :)
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yes, the second woofer they most claim isn't playing anything is for low end re-enforcement and also raises the overall efficiency of the speaker.

I don't have any inside info, but I wouldn't assume that. If the new LSI center uses the same driver format, we're in for a treat!

In other words, the issue Cathy is referring to wouldn't be a problem with the new series... Just guessing...

Sure I am very young and no offense taken to you or anyone. I like to be young again anyway.

But I wanted some clarification - when did you see I repeatedly asked something for my past purchase? Is that your assumption or you've seen me asking repeatedly something from Polk about my past purchases?

My post is started out as a joke but not even directed to anyone other than Kab. It was a suggestion coz in all fairness, previous LSi owners paid a lot of $ for LSi too. Besides, I don't think Polk have a lot to invest for sending leather bound polk history booklets or polk pins to the previous LSi owners. I also don't think there will be a lot of people Polk needs to send them and I don't even think anyone other than the LSi owners in CP will know about it.

These kind of items does not cost Polk more than $1 if they order by several thousands at a time. I don't think it's necessary to explain how do I know? But I know it's a good marketing investment for Polk for keeping the Polk fans and previous LSi owners HAPPY!

Anyway, I like to ask you one small favor if you think I am asking this myself, check my participation of any kind of Karma raffles in CP and you'll understand.

I also knew Doro offers some polk items from time to time but ask Doro if he seen my name in his Karma raffle.

A few people here probably know I usually decline Free Offers better than the Polk Pins or Polk History booket. Ask around!

Anyway, I warmly welcome anyone who needs to address about my posts to send me PM since I really don't want to derail this thread.

Spec...Spec...We need Specs! Are they going to be still Power Hungry 4 ohms speakers or it's going to change completely.

Since it does not look like LSi, why call new LSi? The current LSi speakers boxes already called them the NEW LSi on the box so why calling the prototype LSi again? May be think something more exotic name?

I am convinced that this topic was started as a joke.:(
If indeed there is a new LSi this is not the first medium to use for marketing.
The proof that joke arises from the fact that talks are on the package or CD.
Packaging, etc. is proper Customer Service Department.
Better packaging will depend on customer needs and location. In contrast, the standard package is enough
