WTF? Read the rules, no selling outside the Flea Market and then there are other rules to follow.
Why would you post something like this in this thread? Completely off topic and against the rules :rolleyes:

That's what I need!! I've been trying to figure out a way to keep my cats off the top of my SDA's, and I'd about given up.
Razor wire is the answer!!!:p;)
Might not be a bad idea to wrap the entire speaker in razor wire. Call it a theft deterrent...lol
On that note, Polk should definitely include a pair of very thick leather gloves, to keep the cuts to a minimum when setting the speakers up.:p;)The nirvana inducer-

But looking at the left speaker it seems as if a flat top would then stick above the curve edge at the rear of the speaker. However, we don't see it. It might be that the two edges are coincident at the rear. The photo is simply too low quality to really tell.
I guess only smaller items can thus be balanced on top. I once had a guest rest their small-ish suitcase on top of my R50's. They weren't my LSi9's (hid those away), but it still made me cringe.
The more I look at the front of these speakers the more I hope they get rid of the silver oval bezels. I simply prefer the look of my 9's better. The 9's look like they mean serious business. I know the offset tweeter on the 9's is for a functional purpose, but it makes them look that much cooler. These look too similar to RTiA speakers. Not a terrible look, but LSi's should look better, IMO.
I agree completely. -

There are a lot of very good ideas here. Information such as setup recommendations, room environments and amplification recommendations are going to be incorporated into what we intend to be the world's first truly useful owner's manual. How "sexy" the presentation of the product becomes is really a function of budget, of course. As most all of you know, polk's mission is all about the sound; while packaging that clearly conveys a "quality message" to our customers is important, we may have to do that in an understated, elegant manner.

I agree completely.
Write on the subject in "The Speaker Specialist". -
The picture is poor quality but does it not appear the the right "curved" side mght be some type of cover? Looking at the fronts it appears there is more area to the right of the tweeter/driver than the left.

You may remember this older but nice thread...
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60612&page=4
Read post #110 and look at some of the photos in some of the nearby posts.
Personally, apart from some basic fish I am not a pet person so this isn't a problem for me. I don't like putting *anything* on top of my speakers, not even protection "spikes". -
Those LSi15's in that thread sure look nice. I hope the new ones look at least that good. Or I hope they offer some great discounts on the old when they do come out.
Cats generally don't like tin foil. You can place foil on the floor around the speakers to keep them away. The cat deterrents on top are a novel idea but I would be afraid that they would jump up there, get spooked and slide down the cloth grills with claws deployed.Stan

That sounds great. However, I have several SDA user manuals and have always found them very well written and chock full of setup instructions, amplification requirements and suggestions, method of passive and active biamping explainations, etc. If this manual coming out for the new LSis are truly what you said it is and I have no doubt it will be then, based on my experience with previous Polk manuals, it's going to be a real winner. -
polkfarmboy wrote: »I hope that polk will introduce a massive huge monster center channel thats curvy and contemporary
I feel ya...I've been waiting for Polk to make an equivilent center channel speaker thats like an RTi A9...you know, 36" wide, 20" deep...If K***sch can make one, I'm sure Polk can -

LOL! I keep hearing that song "The Beat Goes On" by Sonny and Cher and replace the lyrics "the beat goes on" with "the list grows on!" WAAAAA!!! -
I replaced my LSiC with a PSB Synchrony One Center. It is about 3 times the size, 4 ohm, and dropped right in with no SPL level adjustment needed. It blends in great with the LSi15s used for the front and rear.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

While "feedback" is a good thing, I really can't believe some of you............
For YEARS people have been BEGGING for a new LSi......BEGGING.......and when you're shown something (a gleam at the prototype being played), it's bash this, bash that blah blah blah.......Y'all need to have MUCH more open minds about the process involved in Prototyping an updated line.
As for not liking the curve up top? oh well.......if a curve on a cabinet is going to make you jump ship without ever having heard the thing play so much as A SINGLE NOTE, then you're probably not the right type of customer for THIS speaker......
if i can't bear to look at something then i certainly don't want to have it in my home no matter what it sounds like. so we agree, i am not the right type of customer for this speaker. they need the type of customer that happens to share their aesthetic sense and who also happens to like the sound of the thing as well as has the means to actually purchase it. in such a competitive market with so many alternatives for a buyer to choose from i believe that it is marketing and not sonic benefits that dictate the 'distinguished' look of so many modern speakers. there are plenty of quality speakers on the market that blend a more traditional look with modern day manufacturing technology and quality materials that there is no need to settle for something that one does not like either sonically or aesthetically. but polk obviously understands marketing or they wouldn't be where they are today. i was just giving feedback as requested. did not mean to offend you or anyone else. sorry that you took it personally. -
Prototype:In general, an iterative series of prototypes will be designed, constructed and tested as the final design emerges and is prepared for production. With rare exceptions, multiple iterations of prototypes are used to progressively refine the design. A common strategy is to design, test, evaluate and then modify the design based on analysis of the prototype.
Or in other word....A work in progress, NOT the finished product.

The good news: As a huge fan of Polk (I have the R20, LSi15, an LSiC speakers and am very pleased with them), I am extremely happy and excited in the news of a new LSi line.
The bad news: I had to wade through these posts in the thread, many of which delved into childish personal attacks and pettiness.
Just remember people, we're talkin about speakers.
Long live Polk Audio!Do you hear that buzzing noise? -
