I have three pairs of the 1989 version CRS+ and they all only have 4 screws holding the passive. I assumed that Polk didn't find any advantage to using 8 screws for the 10" passive. There is a metal mesh screen the goes over the passive, so that might also be a contributing factor for fewer screws.

Should I use all 8 then??? I know the monitor 10's and 7's only use 4 screws as well..

The CRS's will be a nightmare with trying to attach the grills on straight and correctly. Might be easiest to run the CRS's with the metal grills off. Majority of the screws are put in at a angle.

I think 4 screws holding down the 10" passive will be easiest.

I drilled out the extra 4 screw holes for the PR's on my CRS+'s....no biggie. Make them with 8, please.

Larry take your time no big rush. Are you planning on doing an 8" for the PR's in a Monitor 5? I just Mortited mine so I'd prefer not pull it to make a template, but if you need one I can probably do it. I need specific instructions as to what measurements you would need.

4 is enough, but if you don't mind doing the extra work to add the additional 4 screws, I would like to have screws all the way around. Thanks.

Are the 10" passives of the CRS's the same size as the 10" passives of my Monitor 7A's?

If so, I might go ahead and order a set for my 7A's now.

Well, I realize that. I guess I should have worded that differently.

Will the bolt patterns match up the same etc...?

The MW's and the PR's on my 7A's are mounted on top of the baffle, rather than being set into the baffle. Will this make any differences as far as mounting them with these rings? Would the posts for the screws need to be a little longer or anything like that?

I'm assuming that they'll work just fine though.

    While we're on the topic...

I've seen a few people mention here that they drilled out the rest of the holes for their 10" PR's. The PR's on my 7A's use only 4 of the screw holes. Would you recommend drilling them out and using all 8 holes? I've never had any issues with air tightness or anything like that with my 7's. Will using all 8 screws couple the drivers to the baffle more efficiently? It'd be an easy enough tweak to do...so I'll probably go ahead and do it, unless anyone advises otherwise.

Larry-Any word on whether or not rings will be available for the 8" PR's? If you make 8" rings as well, you should have every vintage Polk driver covered as far as I can tell. I'd assume that the rings for the MW's would work for the 6.5" PR's on the Monitor 5Jr's as well.

So, here's my total order currently, for my SDA 2A's and my Monitor 7A's.

2A's-two midwoofers, and one 12" PR per speaker
7A's-one midwoofer and one 10" PR per speaker.

So, I'd need six midwoofer rings, two 12" PR rings and two 10" PR rings altogether.

As myself and others have already stated, take your time! This is an awesome thing that you're doing for Club Polk!! You're truly one of the members that makes this place as great as it is. Keep up the good work!

"Ok" I have the Dimensions for the 10" 12" and 15" passives.

    Thanks Jesse!!

On the 10" passive did Polk ever use all 8 holes in any of the models? I will hardware for all eight but I was just curious.

This might seem slow for me to get all of this together, but I am slammed at work right now. As soon as I have everything ready to roll I will start going through the list and get PM's to to you guys. I don't want to hold on to your money to long, I want you guys to be able to pay and know you will see them within two weeks max.

    Thanks for being patient,

    Larry.

Between seven hundred, and eight hundred thousand. Depends on the loader you get with it. If you want one that is, but who wants to load 48" X 120" sheets of steel all day? Getting a loader with it is the only way to go.
